Dogs competing in the 2012 K-9 Keg Pull benefit for the Panhandle Animal Shelter. It's actually one of the more anticipated events during the long winters here in North Idaho. Just watch out for flying kegs.

I've never seen the moon this bright at this time of day, and I spend alot of time outdoors. NE Ohio @ around 5PM EST, April 2, 2012.

T3 + 55-250 f/4-5.6 IS + Learning photographer + no tripod or photoshop

Pretty good for the above no? I'd love for it to have bettter contrast, but aperture changes either made it a bright blob or washed out the features of the moon. I'm guessing a white balance change may help... I'll try that next time.

Nice shot, especially for hand held with just the kit lens. Lots of detail in the moon and a nice blue sky.

Not bad at all for a handheld shot. Could use some contrast tweaking, white balance seems okay. If you shoot in RAW you can easily tweak white balance later in software. I find taking moon photos during daylight to be more difficult than at night. Makes it look washed out and the heat of the day can mess with image clarity.

Here's a similar pic I took at sunset with the same lens, a Rebel XS and a tripod. The tripod really helps bring out the surface details.

A baby raccoon seeing who is invading his area at the top of a dead tree in a hollow. Loses alot on resizing to fit here; learning how to get better results doing that also.

4/15/2012 Upper Cuyhoga River Kayak trip

Some turtles sunning themselves. Screwed up the depth of field, but still like the pic.

Canadian Goose prompted to take off by slapping paddles on the kayak.
