Wow!! this shot is superb. What lens set up did you use to get such clarity? All I have is a Canon 70-200mm L f/2.8 and I can only get so much detail and its really nothing compared to yours, very, very, well done!

Well, the key is stacking. That's the part I find amazing.

I used a 600mm mirror lens that's really average and stacked about 12 shots with Registax.

Thanks, btw, what were the cameras settings? I have a Canon 40D and using a Canon 70-200mm L and I can only get so close so today I picked up a Tamron 2X teleconverter so I'll see what the does.

ISO 200, 1/640, f/8, RAW converted to TIFF for RegiStax

You may be better off not using the TC, it may soften the image too much, might be better off cropping.

RegiStax is daunting, but you can google to find some settings to start with. I would do a small stack first.

Went to a car show today, and had my hand at playing with a 35mm f/1.8 and a 10-20mm. Took over 150 shots, happy with quite a few of them. So hard to pick just a few!

it must be Venus...its too bright and not red enough to be Mars...which make sense, b/c Venus has been in the evening sky lately. take a look at the opposite horizon a bit later in the evening and you'll see Jupiter rising...
