AT&T has some great deals on their GoPhone (pay as you go) phones:
http://www.wireless.att.com/ce...nes/prepaid-phones.jsp

Here are some current choices:
Nokia 6030 (Refurb): $9.99
Sony Ericsson J220a (Refurb): $9.99
Nokia 2610 (Refurb): $9.99
Pantech C120 (Refurb): $19.99

Note that all of these phones come with $10 of calling credit, and since it is a prepaid plan, there are no contracts to sign. These phones can be used with any AT&T/Cingular SIM card, so if you want a new phone, but don't want to sign a new contract, you can get in on this deal.

Phones are shipped via FedEx 2-day for free as well. You can also port a number from another provider over to this phone. Also, if you are a current out-of-contract Sprint customer and want to get on a SERO plan without losing your existing phone number, all you need to do is port your Sprint number to this AT&T pre-paid phone, and then port back to the SERO plan...a much easier process than trying to get Sprint to transfer your existing Sprint number to a new Sprint SERO plan!

You can port from Verizon if you get any of their pre-paid phones. When you order, you'll have an option to be assigned a new number, or port your existing number.

They have two pre-paid plans:
http://www.wireless.att.com/ce...tion&&_requestid=75781

$0.25/minute flat rate
or
$0.10/minute + unlimited AT&T mobile to mobile calls. $1 fee on each day that you use your phone - no fee if you don't use it.

They also offer an option to get a phone without a contract and you get a bucket of minutes each month:

Here are the minute expiration details, depending on how much you spend on refill minutes:
$100 - 365 days
$75 - 90 days
$50 - 90 days
$25 - 90 days
$15 - 30 days

You also get a 20% refill bonus if you order at least $25 in refill minutes within 7 days of activating your included $10 card:

Make sure you activate the phone by making at least one billable call or else they charge you full price of the phone.

Really - where does it say that? Not a big deal to do obviously...just wondering since I don't remember seeing that anywhere. Although I know they love putting things like that in the fine print

$0.10 per minute, and the killer $1 daily access fee. But it looks like all the other basic stuff is included, text messaging as well? Hmm, wonder if I should get off my $5/month pay-per-call plan. I hardly use my phone, this deal may even save me money over the $60 + calls I pay per year right now. And I get a new(er) phone...

Edit: Oh, and the 6030 seems to be gone now.
Ouch, the expiring minutes is not hot at all.
