its not my phone, but my g/f's mothers, but its easier to say that in the title

well first of all she has my g/f's old phone which barely can hold a battery life of 30 minutes talking, all she uses it for are short conversations...

anyway, they charged $47 dollars on a couple hour long phone calls, that she didnt make

now AT&T customer service and the manager refuse to do anything about it, saying they have no power over the bill and cant make adjustments.

She has been with them for years now and this is the last bill with AT&T before the contract is up, now she obviously is going to change companies rather then stay with them

The only thing they kept saying was. maybe we can get her a plan that includes more minutes if you sign up for more years

anyone have problems with AT&T before or suggestions on how to deal with them? Im only used to dealing with Sprint

is this AT&T wireless? I assuming it is since you are talking about battery life. anyway, i had 200 bucks in overages once with them. had the "local" plan which THEY said i was within the boundaries, but it turned out i was outside it by like two miles. told them i wanted to switch over to national, they said fine and i begin to call and use the phone normally. Bill comes with ~200 bucks in roaming fees. i told them and they fixed it, but it was still a scare. i still wonder if they just did that to see if i would pay for it. good luck. hopes it works out.

AT&T did that to me as well. Luckily it was in the last month of my contract. They were cancelled that day.

Never had that with Verizon. I suggest cancelling subscription with them and changing services and disputing the bill with CC company.

AT&T Wireless is a terrible company. I can only hope that once they are fully absorbed by Cingular (and hence I will be a Cingular customer) that Cingular doesn't suck as much.

Good luck getting them to remove that fee. After about 4+ years with that company we were fed up. The reception was just horrible after they went gsm. We are talking dropped calls 75% of the time. After fighting with the area manager to return phones we just recently upgraded to, he let us, only if we were to get better phones and up to a 2 year contract. So I walked in to the att store with my mom and sister to have the phones returned. After they credited my moms credit card back, they asked which phones we wanted to get. I had to leave to get to the sprint store before it closed so I left my mom and sister there. After about 10 minutes, my mom just said "I am going to just purchase them online." They actually locked the door on her and said she had to get one today because that was the agreement. She just yelled at them and told them that she would call the police if they didn't let her out.

When my mom and sister met me at the sprint store and told me about what just went down I was pissed out of my mind. I wished I would have stayed so I could have exploded in their faces when they pulled that. Now we are with sprint and the reception is 100x better.

Uh, just don't pay the bill. Or if it bills to a credit card, dispute the charges. Of course they have control over the bill and can get rid of the false charges. Who else would?

AT&T wireless USED to be awesome...like 4-5 years ago. I used to have them in 1999-2000ish and I always had awesome reception even in deep remote areas (like in university libraries or something).

However, I am w/ Tmobile now b/c AT&T phones sucked back them, always big/bulky/ugly and their plans sucked ass. Their plans weren't that great either.

And now I only hear crap about them, never anything good comes out from them.

Good luck, they sent me a replacement phone once & wouldn't give me the address to return the old phone to, and billed me for the full retail price of the replacement phone...

I sent the broken phone to their corporate offices, C/O their CEO certified, return reciept with a flaming letter.

Rat bastards just charged me $175 for an early termination fee even though I terminated 24 hours after the end of my contract.....

honestly, i've never had a problem with them reversing charges. when they say they don't have the power, someone is lying to you.

and about that early termination fee - if it was within 24 hours, i wouldn't pay it. i would argue and fight that.

Agreed. I used to work for a cell phone company that merged with ATT after I had quit and we could do that for customers so I see no reason they couldn't. Same thing with early termination fees and such.

It's already been corrected, but it really hacks me off, especially when you realize the errors are virtually 100% in their favor:|

Yes, of course. They have no incentive to fix anything that either makes them money or costs them nothing. Now losing money is another story. They will usually put up a fight even if they are in the wrong. I used to give credits like crazy because I know how the industry works and I knew a lot of the people were victims of the "system."
