I hear u.. Thanks anyways.. I will try again tonite..
If I can get those 100 minutes I am definitely switching...
Staples, weeekend calls to your girlfriend in CA - are they totally free??

<< In a year someone will have something better.
Nextel is due to roll out GSM by 2003 all over the US.
I'd try calling until you can get the 200+100 bonus mins.

BTW, I don't want to give out my number for two reasons
#1. I get enough calls for sales on my cell that I dont need more!
#2. If they say you cant do that...cross reference my account, they COULD take it back.

just got off the phone.

My new plan is Regional Advantage 200 + 200 = 400 anytime minutes. they upgraded me to unlimited nights and weekends. i still have nationwide long distance but now i also have free nationwide roaming. and my new price is $39.99 ($10 lower.) he wasn't actually sure whether my base minutes were 200 or 250 (computer problems) so i will have to call back to find out for sure...and at that time i'll tell them i'm supposed to have 500 anytime minutes total. overall it's a good upgrade.

Thanks StaplesSucks!

AT&T Wireless is offering GSM/GPRS service in certain markets right now:

http://www.attws.com/mobileinternet/

Click on the link under "Service Plans to Meet Your Needs", and enter your ZIP code when prompted. I am in suburban Chicago, and there are plans available for me. Check out the available equipment here:

http://www.attws.com/mobileinternet/equipment.jhtml

The connection speed on the modem is 53.6K, which is better than landline dialup, according to this press release:

http://www.attws.com/press/releases/2001_12/121301.html

I personally can't afford the service myself, but perhaps this is valuable for others who can and who have service in their area.

I got lucky with my plan. I'm signed up with SunCom, which is a baby of AtT, my plan includes 900 anytime minutes and 4500 of time, beginning at 9PM and fridays at 7PM. And no charges as long as I am in the ATT network..The price? 65 Americans, not bad?

Right now with At&T I am getting 650 anytime minutes w/ unlimited night and weekends for $36/month. I live in the Southern CA area. It's free long distance to anywhere in CA also. I think this is a pretty good plan for the money.

hey...when u say free LD in cali, does that imply no free LD nationwide? i guess if you don't call anyone out of state, it's a good deal...but personally, i have grown used to free nationwide free LD

No, i don't get free long distance. Just free long distance w/in CA, so it works well for those who just make calls within California..

Does anyone know what the next AT&T promo will be? And also, with the 50% more anytime minutes for life, does that only apply to that plan, or to any plan you have in the future. I just read the entire At&t contract and it does not say if the "for life" clause applies to new contracts. If anyone knows, please let me know, cause this could be a very hot thing if it can transfer to your future plans!

yes, I called and get:
regional advan at $40 with
400 anytime
3000 nightweekend
free long dis and free roaming.

If you can't get them all in one call, try again. It took me three calls to get them.

It is better than the verizon American choice plan.
lucky I resisted the temptation when I first saw the verizon plan. At that time I was fed up with att and wanted to submit the 150 early cancellation fee to end it.

I wonder if this could somehow work for a new customer. I have sprint service and hate it, so I would love to get this sort of deal on an AT&T phone. Maybe I could call in and say my friend is getting this plan and I am thinking about switching services from sprint to at&t. You think at&t would buy that?? You think I could get this deal as a new customer??

I got it through my dad's company. I get normally 600 anytime minutes plus unlimited night and weekend minutes. But, on top of that, I get 15% extra minutes for free and 10% off your monthly bill. Check the company that you work for and they might have a special deal like this through ATT. YMMV Let me know if you have any other questions.

Right now I am on a play that is $39.99 a month. I get 400 anytime mins and 2000 night and weekend mins. The mins that I have are nationwide BUT I do have to pay roaming if I go lower than like NY or Baltimore. Do you think they will switch me to a no roaming plan? I plan on going to FL and I need my phone when I go down there. I don't really need any of the other stuff you guys were talking about, unlimited weekends and nights would be nice though. So could anyone PM me with what they said to the reps? Alright thanks.

Nutcase99 - try the same thing the others have.
Regional Advantage 200 mins
Ask for the following promos
"I NEED ROAMING!!!"...don't tell them you would like it...make it sound like you cant live without it.
and that you had 400 minutes before and you would like to keep that...or you could try to get the 200+100 min bonus like I did

You will probably end up with the 2000 night and weekend minutes unless you're really good with haggeling.
I just got lucky because that promo code was already in. You may be able to add them for $5, but I'm not sure.

I was just thinking, why does this have to be the Regional plan? since it's free roaming anyways..

If you do Digital (local) plan, then you start with a higher "base minutes" for the peak minutes.

so 400 + 200 + 100 peak mins
unlimited weekend/nights
free roaming

??

would that work?

two questions:

has anyone else gotten this to work and logged into the site to check...
I supposed got this to work... but it still says .60 domestic roaming... I called back and they said that I have free roaming...

has anyone gotten this to work with the digital advantage plan... or is it just the regional?

i guess it's better to call 4 times (like i did) tho.
i told the guy that i have ATT cableTV, ATT cableInternet, and ATT Longdistance, and i asked him if there's any way that they could give me any discount if i get on their Wireless deals? he said, what deals? so i told him about my friend having this 400 anytime + 3000 NW + free LD + free Roaming for $39 and he put me on hold. after talking to his supervisor (i think), he said they can only go upto $35....but i have to stay in contract for at least 6 mos. or else i'll have to pay $100 (?maybe because i'm new in their Wireless service?)
well, i think it's a hot deal 'coz i'm not going to use my ATT LongDistance service a lot anymore, considering i paid $$$ for LD last year

Dongky - what was your final plan after haggeling with the guy?

dmk11 - the free roaming code ONLY works on the Regional 200 minute plan
