For 29.99 regional, I'm getting 120 on, 500 mobile to mobile, 1000 off.
The 500 extra is just like on peak for me. So you guys might wanna try asking for M2M minutes

Like pdragn78, I called in, thought I got the free nationwide roaming (according to one rep that was in the Oklahoma call center), but really didn't. This rep was super-nice on the phone, gave me all sorts of stuff:

430 anytime
Unlimited NW
500 mobile to mobile
Free text messaging
Free LD
Free Nationwide roaming

I called back to confirm that the service had all those features, but the lady in Orlando, FL told me that the representative in Oklahoma needed more training beacuse she added all sorts of promos that conflicted with each other (or something to that effect). I argued with her a little, didn't get anything out of it, so called back and got a Canadian call rep. He told me the same thing the lady in Orlando told me.

So I called 4 hours later and got a person in a different Oklahoma center. This guy apologized for the problems and realized what the original Oklahoma rep had tried to do. Because I had mentioned Cingular (it is EXTREMELY important for you to mention the competition, regardless who), she tried to slapp on some promos that were for customer retention purposes (similar to pdragn78's experience) but screwed up somehow so that the roaming never showed up. This guy switched me to the regional advantage and gave me this:

550 anytime
Unlimited NW
Free LD
Free nationwide roaming

So it's almost as good as what I had before this fiasco, which was:

600 anytime
Unlimited NW
Free LD
Roaming in my 4-state area (ATT-network areas of: Hawaii, California, Nevada, Arizona)

I hope this helps someone... the key is to keep calling until you get a rep to give you a promo that is designed only when customers call in about what __________ <insert your favorite competitor here> gives their customers.

i called up one of the 800 numbers a couple weeks ago, and started haggling with the representative and then the power in our apartment went out for a few hours and i forgot about it.....until it got bumped back up to the top of the forums.

anyways......

i am on suncom and if i get the job that i am suppossed to be getting, i will driving all over the eastern united states, so i could really use the free NW roaming. suncom is a subsidiary of at&t, so would these deals that all of you are getting on at&t work on suncom? and would i use the same 800 numbers or would i need some different ones?

if anyone knows ANYTHING, please let me know

-THANKS IN ADVANCE

i've been hearing from cell phone newsgroups that att will be switching their night time minute start time to 9pm starting june 1. does anyone know if this applies to only new customers or if it does to existing ones as well. my contract is up in june and was unsure if i should renew now or wait another month. so any input would be great

If they do that, I think that they would lose a lot of users! Me for one. I signed a contract knowing that peak started at 8pm, and if it no longer does, then I will no longer pay for their services! I talk every night from 8:00 to 9:00 that's 7 hours a week of extra peak time (420 minutes)!
I do not believe they will do this, but I'm checking right now!

same here.....i don't want to wait till 9 or 10 o'clock to use my free minutes. my dad has to get up EARLY for work, so i call and talk to the folks a little after 8. i think some other company (verizon maybe) changed their time that nights started a while back, but it only applied to new customers and people who renewed their contracts got to keep their original time. i'm not 100% sure bout this, but that's what i think happened

I think its not a goog idea to sign a 2 year contract. Service can deterirate and you are stuck . Also you get a better deal on phones ( many "free") when you are a new sign-up .

<< StaplesSucks,

Sounds like a decent deal, but I wouldn't say it beats all. Verizon has nationwide no long distance, no roaming, 300 Anytime, 3000 N&W for $35. Plus, I live out in the boonies, so can't get AT&T here last I checked.

Thanks for the post though,

After one call but a good deal of haggling:

Before:
400 Anytime (200 base + 200 promo)
NE Regional Advantage Zone
Unlimited N/W
$39.99

After:
400 Anytime (200 base +200 promo)
Nationwide Zone
Unlimited N/W
$39.99

Thanks StaplesSucks!

I can't seem to get the other 100 promo. I've called 3 times and they said that I can't have both the 200 promo and the 100 promo. Any ideas?

How much is you monthly? And have you verified what you got with ATTWS online?

i just talked to my friend who works at suncom in another state, and he told me that they have already changed their name from suncom to AT&T wireless, and apparently the suncom name will be gone in 2-3 months, so ignore any previous posts of mine.....i'm assuming this number should be the right one for me to call

Runciter:

I pay $39.99 monthly. And while my ATTWS online account does not show regional roaming, I've called about 4 different times regarding the roaming feature (ie, can I make LD outbound calls while roaming, can I do this and that, etc) and every customer service representative has CONFIRMED that I indeed have the feature that makes it a Digital One Rate-type account at $39.99.

My contract is about to expire next week. The question I have is should I wait for it to expire, or should I try to upgrade my package? The benefits of doing it now: I could have an upgraded package w/no contract.
The benefits of waiting till later: Don't know.

Whats your advice?

Thanks,
Brian
