AT&T Wireless Phone Recommendations

Hi,

Many of my friends and family use AT&T so I'm looking to switchover and get the cheapest shared minutes plan they offer (59.99/mo) which should work fine for me.

Now, the question is how do the Incite, Fuze, Shine, (insert you favorite here) stack up?

I'm leaning towards the Incite for the following reason:
1) Wi-fi
2) 3.5mm audio out
3) Supposedly pretty good battery life (per the specs listed online)
4) Price is right (free-ish)

I'm also leaning away from the Incite for the following reasons (which may or may not be true, per amazon, etc online reviews)
1) Touchscreen may be sluggish (some say yes, others say not at all; who to believe?)
2) A review or two about poor reception (didn't seem like it was a common complaint though)
3) Supposedly the screen scratches very easily (this is not really a concern, but if all things where equal between another phone it would sway me)

I'm most interested in good call quality and reception for calls regardless of the form factor (not too big though). I barely ever text, so that's a non-issue.

If the available options just aren't right for the smart phones, I'm looking at a flip phone like the Rugby (built to military spec).

Incite is garbage, dont buy it. HTC Fuze, at&t ruined the touch pro so only buy if you intend to wipe all the carrier garbage and flash it. Shine is a POS. Rugby is a great phone, good features, good sound quality and reception, and of course very durable. Eternity is a great alternative to the iPhone if you don't want the data plan. Don't get the Vu, plastic crappy phone. I have an iPhone and Bold and love both but maybe out of your price range. Sony Ericsson w760a is a good phone as well. Samsung Propel is a good cheap phone just be careful with it as I don't know if it could withstand as much damage as some other phones (kinda light and made totally of plastic). Motorola Z9 and V9x are fantastic, my preference is the v9x over the slider z9. Nokia 6650 is also a great phone, symbian s60 smart phone in a flip package but doesnt require $30 data plan, you can use $15 media net on it.

I work with these phones all day everyday, I'm a corporate rep.

I have the Fuze and while it is neat and has some nice features, it is very sluggish even after removing all the AT&T junk. Battery life is also pretty bad (1-2 days). Also a bit heavy and bulky.

I have the Eternity and like the phone. I've recently washed it by accident and so it's drying out right now. But I liked the phone that I may consider getting another to replace it if this one does not work. The only bug I don't like about it is that it does not support WiFi, which is what you are looking for.
