I'm alive. Just rode 100 miles last night in the cold and drizzle trying to break in the bike more, revving from 4-12k. That took a while. Had a 4AM shivering breakfast at Denny's. I want to get to at least 550 miles so I can bring it in for the routine maintenance on Saturday. BTW, cost of maintenance in California, in bumble fuck Tracy California is $175, which includes labor and parts for oil change as well. I told them I would do my own oil change and that dropped the price down to $100 - talk about a freaking expensive oil change.

BTW, my friend who is a nurse said that based off of her experience in the emergency room, the one piece of gear you should get besides helmet and boots is back plating. Everyone should be getting their armadillos on. Just bought one a few days ago myself.

I have a Dainese back protector in my A* leather jacket.

I wore my mesh jacket this morning when I rode in to work and was pretty cold despite the fact that it was in the high 60s.

My jacket included armor at all the important points (elbows, shoulders, back, chest). Maybe you should have bought a better jacket from the beginning? And how frickin long did 100mi take you to ride? That's MAYBE a 2hr ride (more like an hour and half).

Most jackets come with fairly basic armor inserts. My $379 Alpinestars leather jacket only came with a 1/2" thick piece of foam for back protection and it has zero chest armor.

It is easy, it's just messy.

Everytime I've taken my bike in for service I've gotten it back the same day.

Ummm if you get the right lube, it's really not that messy. The one i've got is sticky, so it doesn't run or spray around when you put it on.

Just toss the bike on the rear race stand and roll the wheel as you spray (WITH THE BIKE OFF so you don't end up like that one gixxer jackass)

Also I wish i could get my armadillo on

You still have to clean the chain and no matter how you do that it is messy.

I have the same exact combo. AlpineStar and Dianese Armadillo. What kind of pants do you guys wear? Leather? Textile overpants? Kevlar jeans style?

Honestly, I just wear jeans most of the time. I have some Cortech riding jeans that are lined with kevlar but they are really bulky. I might need to pick up some textile overpants at some point.

you know it's really not necessary to do that. The engine can take it no matter how you ride it. I doubt you're going to hold this to 30k miles or something like that.

I wear a T-Pro Forcefield back protector everytime I get on the bike; I feel naked without it. I also wear their long pants with hip + thigh armor. I never really cared for lower body armor peices and just went with what was in my leathers (thin little foam pad things) until I broke my pelvis (not impacting a wall or anything, just a nasty highside). I don't know if having the T-Pro stuff would of stopped that, but it wouldn't of been a bad thing, heh.

Dude, you need a new rear tire on that bike.

I might get a set of leathers one of these days...after I get a job that is.

Hit a glass shard literally day after that pic was taken and ended up with a new tire...

Dude, how many vehicles do you have? S4, w/e bike that is, and what else?

Nice leathers by the way. And yea, all I got is the basic black foam.

That's my old gixer. I'm down to the A6 and S4, started with S4, A6, porsche 944 and an R6 in 2010.

Doing a little downsizing, since I gotta focus on the CFA till december.
