Accounts are set up within 36-48 hrs...usually much faster.

In the past, there was some abuse going on with a few accounts. Please don't abuse this offer.

Offer is good indefinitely. All users will have at least 30 days to remove data if we choose to end this offer. However, this shouldn't happen anytime soon.

Given your suggestion, I'm trying to use namecheap to transfer a previously existing domain from DreamHost. Unfortunately, NameCheap is telling me it "cannot be transferred. This domain has expired or expires within 7 days". I have two days left - did I wait too long, and am SOL? TIA.

I got caught like that too. You can't transfer a domain if it is within a week of expiring. I had to renew with my current registrar, you can transfer after you renew and namecheap with honour the rest of the year without charge (IIRC).
