Thanks, I put it together with photoshop a few years back for a halloween theme.

I am thinking I can't connect because either something on my PC is blocking the site, or the site itself is blocking requests from my IP address. Time for some troubleshooting...

All right...the new server came on line today and it is about ready. I was trying to get it sooner...just busy IRL...

Anyways...

PHP 4 and 5 have been installed and it has been secured. I have begun migrating some accounts over to it already. You will be notified if your account has been transfered to the new server. The only thing that will change is the server IP. Nameservers, logins, and passwords are all the same. The move will be transparent to users.

Please remember to back up all your data. Rsync backups are being done every night to a server in Chicago, but it is always good to have your own.

The server was just a bit overcrowded which was causing some downtime. It should all be resolved now. Thanks to those people that donated and helped out. We all appreciate it.

Thanks for your understanding and everything should be back to 100% shortly

Umm.... my website is completely fvcked. Check it out, http://iamaelephant.net

If I try to access it from the original address, iamaelephant.bluemonday.org I get 404 errors. It's been like this for at least an hour. This is not cool - any idea what's up dartworth?

Edit - my password also no longer works for my cPanel. Great. And I don't have a backup on my HDD. Oh, and the same thing is happening with my subdomains.

Great, my email account is also down. That's the email account I use for online auctions, three of which have just finished in the last couple of hours. Just great. Any word on what's up dartworth?

Give him time to get the new server setup and for the new IP address to propagate through all the DNS servers.

For those of you who have a hosting account, please update your nameservers to the following:

dns1.adaptnoc.com
dns2.adaptnoc.com

This will resolve some issues with the new server.

Those users with subdomains, you don't have to do anything.

Well this is just great. My website has been down for at least 12 hours now, not including the many downtime hours that have occurred sporadically in the past couple of weeks and Dartworth isn't responding to my emails. As much as I appreciate what he has done for me, I would advise anyone who requires reliable webspace to look elsewhere. If this isn't sorted I'm afraid I'll have to move to a pay host which I really don't want to do Your service has been awesome up until the last couple of week Jim, hope you get it together.

The reason you can see the sites is due to DNS propagation. I can see them fine on my end.

The servers have been running fine.


iamaelephant...you emailed me @ 11PM on a Friday night...I'm sorry I wasn't sitting in front of my computer monitoring your site.


If you demand instance response for support help and emails, I encourage to use a paid hosting service.

my site is up and running..its been a little slow all week, but its been running fine after the DNS change and the new server...

Thanks dartworth. My site was occasionally loading, so I did not think it was DNS propagation. I'm glad to hear that was it.

Dude! How can you complain this way about a FREE service?

If you don't have the patience to deal with these hiccups, GO GET A PAID HOST...QUIT THREATENING TO QUIT THE FREE SERVICE!

You've got a point, but I think that may have been a bit harsh.

In the text you're quoting, he was careful to say how much he appreciates the free service. And he simply said that those who require a certain level of reliability and prompt support should consider springing for paid hosting.

That sounds about right to me, and I think it's basically what dartworth has been saying, too. It's a terrific opportunity for those who don't need to pay for hosting, but you can't expect 24-7 support or the uptime guarantees of a paid account.

First of all, way to cherry pick my post. Notice I also carefully commented on how much I appreciate this service. Secondly, even a free service should have a certain amount of reliability. Would you be pissed if your GMail account stopped working for 12 hours?
