AT Web Hosting Account Update

My site has been down most of yesterday and still today. I really hope it's just DNS propagation, but this is taking a long long time..

I had a problem with my site as well. But for some reason, other people were able to view it, and not me. I couldn't even log into the CPanel or FTP. I changed my IP, and all of a sudden it worked !!! lol... I can view my site, and log into the cpanel, but I cannot connect to my main FTP account, currently I'm using a secondary ftp account I set up. So I'm not really much in a hurry to get this fixed.

I'm not sure what happened before, I thought the site was down until I asked someone to check the site for me, and it worked for them. My FTP was working earlier that day as well, and then it just stoppped working. Does the new server block my ip or something if I log into my FTP account too many times or somethin lol.. idk .. But some reason it was rejecting my ip ... I'm not sure what the problem is, but when you get a chance, could you help me out..like I said it's not urgent, I have my secondary ftp account working. I emailed you as well

I haven't been able to access my site now for over 72 hours but it can be accessed from other computers. Any idea what I can do?

Hosting has been working great so far with my own domain, I just use it to host some pics that I post in forums. I'm wanting to do more with it now and need some more info... what's this cpanel/directadmin thing people talk about? What does the host support in the way of server side stuff? ASP.NET? PHP?

cPanel and DirectAdmin are web host control panels where you manage email accounts, FTP, etc.

Since this is Linux it's PHP.

If you're using cPanel, click Fantastico and you can auto install Menalto Gallery or Coppermine with 3 clicks of your mouse. Or if you're feeling adventurous you can install your own image gallery script.

This is my problem as well. I think it's ISP related...

might be your DNS...some DNS cache WAY too long....72hrs is long. I had some outages, but not 3 days in a row.

Clear all caches on your PC, reboot, new IP (if possible)...and try finding other nameservers which you can put in your PCs network configuration.
Really think its a nameserver problem on your side.

You are using dartworth's free hosting offer, right? Just making sure you aren't currently using another hosting provider.

You should have received a welcome e-mail with your login information, IP, username, password, etc.

If your login is www.domain.com/cpanel or www.domain.com:2082 then it's cPanel

If it's www.domain.com:2222 then it's DirectAdmin.

I've just finished on the phone with my ISP (it has now been 5 days since I could access my website) and they are absolutely stumped, but they say it's almost certainly not a problem on Dartworth's end and it's almost certainly not a problem on my end. They have an engineer on the case now.

I can't access my site directly either. I'm still trying to figure it out. I was thinking an isp problem or maybe a router thing. I can't access your site directly with my browser but if I use a proxy site I can access your site. Let me know if you can access mine. http://m0og0ogaipan.atotchat.org/

I got the problem fixed. Try to reconnect to your isp. If that doesn't work check your router. First try unplugging it, reboot your system, plugging the router back in after like a minute or two. If that doesn't work you can try connecting directly to your isp w/out going through the router. If that works then you can try resetting your router to it's defaults.

One more thing I noticed. When the site last worked for me I was logged into my sites forum and had it set to stay logged in. But when I tried to access the admin stuff again right now it asked me to reenter my pw because it says I was last logged in on a different ip.

Well my ISP just gave me the DNS address of a different ISP and it worked, so it looks like it's on their end.

hey i cant get my ftp to work right. Ive tried everything and its not working. can someone help me out?

i also cant upload my backup file from my other cpanel. it says only your administrator can do that. wtf, i am the administrator.

Hmm I've seemed to have broken access again. Could there be some kind of security measures in place to lock out ip addresses? Basically my connection problems to the site started when I tried to ftp into the site to upload files but I logged in incorrectly a number of times and then I could no longer connect to the ftp site. At the same time I lost access to the http site. Just now I tried to ftp in again and I guess I was still entering in the wrong ftp pw so after a number of failed attempts I was again unable to connect to the ftp and http sites. But the site is still viewable via a web proxy.

BTW you can still log onto your command panel using the proxy I listed earlier and admin your site. You can upload files via the file manager utility if you need to edit your page.
