AT Web Hosting Account Update

Hi guys, I'm sort of late to the game but I have always wanted a website of my own and I do not know the first thing about owning/maintaining one. All I know is you need a domain name and a webhost. All this tech jargon is getting me confused.

Do one of you kind people have a link or some way of easily explaining what it takes to run a website? Thank you.

Can someone whose having issues please send me a PM with their domain name? I've been trying to figure out this issue but the only domain I've got to work with is BlinderBomber and it's not pointing to the server.

LuckyTaxi, the sites are currently on the original server that Jim had been hosting everything on. I'll have the DNS issues sorted ASAP, and I do apologize about the delay in dealing with them, I've just had a ton of stuff to deal with lately. I plan on moving all of the accounts to one of my servers this weekend and after that's done I'll be reopening the offer for new accounts and i'll be glad to guarantee 99.9% uptime.

I need help with my hosting account. I tried to contact Dartworth for a loooong time but just got ignored. Just need to know where/how to login is all - Got some files on the account I could really use now. The site dartworth originally set me up with was fustercluck.bluemonday.org i think. It was still up pretty recently, now it's not there anymore it's got me worried. Please see what you guys can find out and get back to me sometime this year - thanks.

OK, I'm late to this but hadn't checked my site for a while because it's mostly a summer thing and now I see that hosting ended on 12/26 or whatever per Dartworth's post. But I still see people posting about DNS issues and such.

What's really going on? Are the sites gone? Did they just get moved? I PM'd Dartworth the other day but didn't hear back. I'd like to not have to redo my site from scratch somewhere else so if someone could let me know (reply here or PM) I'd appreciate it.

I'm down as as well, and have been for about two days. I'm already planning to go elsewhere and would like to verify my latest backup is current, but I can't do that without FTP access.

I definitely appreciate what Jim, Ankit, Ross, and Eric have been doing. I'd just appreciate some information about what's going on - several PMs have gone unanswered over the last few days.

dns1.servicehost.us
dns2.servicehost.us

Now my site works. Wonder why they haven't posted that yet. dns3 and 4 still don't resolve.

NS1.ATOTHOSTING.COM and NS2... if I change to servicehost.us will that make my site come back?

Why not change it and see if that works? If it doesn't, you can always change your DNS nameservers back.

It can take anywhere from 5 - 30 minutes, 2 hours or 12 hours. I would say within 2 hours it should have propagated. Can you post the domain here or PM it to me?

It's a good time to consider paid web hosting as several companies have promotions and coupons for new customers. What's your budget?

I currently use HostPC for my wife's business site but this is more just a for fun site so I don't care about any fancy features or anything right now. Because of that, my budget is a hard "as cheap as I can get" as long as the site is up most of the time...

Your website isn't loading here but it may later, assuming the new nameservers are correct.

Which control panel are you using with the free hosting? cPanel or DirectAdmin?

HostPC uses DirectAdmin, do you have a preference?

Kelemvor - I've found a few budget web hosts which offer RV Site Builder for the HTML web design challenged

Scouzer - WordPress is awesome and has over 1,500 plugins making it incredibly versatile.
