whoopie.

while a lot of the stuff i kept on there weren't at all important, theres a couple files i'd like to download (for some reason i didnt keep a backup on my pc doh!)

I've PM'ed about half of the people that posted here regarding your accounts, but I don't have enough energy to finish sorting the rest of the accounts tonight . I'll get back to the rest of you in the morning.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a reply.

I had a paid account on Telnap and couldn't get a reply from DeviousTrap for two months. When I finally told him to send me a reply or I'd cancel my service, i.e. put up or shut up, the only response I got was from paypal notifying me that my last two payments had been refunded.

Telnap simply has horrible customer service. Find a real host. I'm setting up my new one as we speak.

For all AT hosting questions, please PM DeviousTrap. I am no longer involved in the AT hosting. All data was to be transfered to DeviousTrap's VPS. Those people using the subdomains of theeternal.org and bluemonday.org, your accounts are closed.

Hey Ross... what was the hosting suggestion? I found a December 7th backup I made of the AT hosting site, so I'm ready to find another server for my site.

I've recommended HostPC.com. I know they used to be highly recommended here as well but haven't been keeping up on that recently. WIth the exception of that Florida hurricane a couple years ago, I've never had a problem with them.

Their budget package is only $25/yr.

Albeit with several exceptions, everybody whose PM'ed me with their domain name should be back up and running. Those of you with domain names who posted in this thread, and have not PM'ed me, please do so! There's a huge account list, but very few of the accounts are actually active. If you PM me your domain name I'll make sure that you're up ASAP.

As Jim said, the subdomains are no longer active. I've got all of the sites for the users that had subdomains, but you guys will need to purchase domains or I can give you a backup of your site, as I don't have a domain that I can use to provide subdomains. If you purchase a domain I can easily change your account information and you'll be back up in minutes.

Rob, I apologize about all of the miscommunication we had. Your issue is an isolated insident, and we did everything we could to restore the data that you needed, but unfortunately we could not do that for you. There was also an email that was sent out to you before those Paypal refunds were issued. I wish you the best of luck with your new host and feel free to PM me if you need a copy of that last email.

Well thank god you finally let me know that. This is the first I've heard of it.

My complaint never was that you couldn't help me restore the data. My complaint was that I didn't get any communication from you. I spent a month asking for updates in December, sending you trouble tickets, emails and PMs with no reply. I sent you three different email addresses and my cell phone number asking you to get back to me.

You (finally) said that you had sent an email and I asked you to resend it. I never got it. I asked you to send it to me on AnandTech. I still never got it. I had no idea what was going on. You said "I'll ask my admins in the morning, but I don't know if we'd be able to make something like that happen" which was the clearest thing I ever got from you. I then spent another month asking you if you had asked your admins and to get back to me. You never did.

I did everything I could think of to get a response from you. I asked nicely. I gave you alternate contact info. I begged. I demanded. I insulted you. Nothing worked. I finally gave you an ultimatum. "Please send a response both to my account here [on AT] and to my email account" or I'd cancel my account.

I heard not even a peep from you. I got nothing except an email from paypal.

My complaint lies 100% with your customer service. Two moths ago you could have said to me "sorry but we can't help you with that" and I would have been a happy camper. Instead I'm now an angry ex-customer. And don't tell me you sent me emails. I made it very clear to you (on more than one occasion) that I wasn't getting those emails and gave you alternate contact info as well as asking you to send it through AnandTech PMs as well. You flat out ignored me for two months and this is the end result of that.
