At what age did you start to feel successful in life?

I'm 26 and I haven't found the job I'd like to be in, I've got a bunch of debt, no girl, etc.

I'd say that on the positive side, I've got a university degree (I'd like to go back for a masters someday), I finally moved out and I've got a car.

I'm slowly starting to get myself established, but I've got a ways to go before I'd say that I'm 'successful". I put it in quotes because I understand that success is different for everyone.

I'm feeling a little behind some of my friends who have houses of their own, are married, starting to have kids and have pretty decent jobs.

How old were you when you started to feel successful?

Birth.

I was born with 23" biceps, $2.23 million in the bank, an Enzo and a Swedish supermodel nanny.

I'm 25 with a bachelor's degree and full-time job that I enjoy but I still don't consider myself successful. I guess when (if?) I get married and have a kids that grow up to be fine young men/women then I'd consider myself successful.

The sucky part is they will probably grow up to be idiots or assholes, so essentially you could be guaranteeing that you will never consider yourself successful.

I'm still riding the fail boat

Compared to highschool, I'm a lot better off now. Better grades, better shape. I just wish I wasn't so afraid of academic failure.

Yeah it's possible, but if can do as well as my parents have I'll be happy.

I'll tell you when I get there. TBH I have everything I need to be happy right now other than a woman, you would think that only lacking one thing wouldn't be all that bad, but its the one thing that REALLY matters .

I am 33, I have a house, I have a car, and a career. Do I feel successful, depends on the day.

I felt good at 18, when I went to college ...
21, when I started working full time ...
22, when I graduated ...
23, when I took another job for a big raise ...
24, when I bought my first house
.
.
.
Life is just full of ups and downs ... sometimes 'successful' is just taking time to reflect on some prior wins. It's really not like one day the light bulb just turns on ...

For every 1 of those 'pick me ups' I have about 4 downers to go with it ... will save 'em for another thread!

So you were successful as soon as you began? Usually people wait until they've had a while to compete before they declare themselves a winner.
