My wife occasionally buys a new one from VS, but then again that is only a small portion of her VS purchases as most of it cannot be worn outdoors without getting arrested.

I'm 28 and still wear hoodies. They are comfortable and warm, but of course I only wear them in casual settings (around the house, hanging out at a friend's house, going grocery shopping). If I were to want to go out with my wife or some friends, of course I would wear my sport coat or pea coat, but the hoodies are great for when it's chilly and you don't need to look all fancy.

44 here and I own and wear at least a half dozen different ones. Bought my wifes Gramma a Jack Skellington hoodie for Xmas 2 years ago, she wears it all the time. she is 71.

On Window or cold days, I walk from the parking lot to the front door of work (5 minute walk) with my hood up. Keeps the head very warm and it's just the hood from a shell.

FUCK YEAH. i agree. im 30 and i wear affliction shirts when i go out. yes, i know people think guys who wear affliction shirts are posers. why do i wear them then? because theyre american made, and very comfortable. and i dont spend $80 on them. more like $20 at burlingtons, so if anyone wants to judge me because i wear them, fuck them. girls definitely dont have a problem with it.

I'll probably end up wearing a hoodie for about 6 hours today, while working outside. They're warm, keep my head warm, and allow a comfortable range of motion while working. I don't go through life thinking that I'm some runway model in a fashion show. As long as I don't look like People of Walmart, I don't care.

I am the OP and if nothing else, I learned that there may be a difference between a hoodie and a pullover. I always thought they were the same but maybe not. I think zip ups are a lot more utilitarian than pullovers.

I think the hoods are pretty useless. They are not very warm and if it were cold enough that you needed head protection, you'd be wearing a jacket and NOT a hoodie. I wear a beenie if it is really cold.

I am currently wearing (because it is 59.8F in this room) a zip up hoodie from Old Navy. It is form fitting, solid dark red but looks really cute (like it was made for a teenager on an American Eagle or Hollister commercial or a girl) because the hood string is white. Anyway, the posters are right that this thing looks a lot nicer than an oversized pullover that has a college name in big writing.
