I'm ok with $20, I'm wondering what you think it's worth.

I'm not ok with $45 given some of the negative comments I've seen

At the mood I am in I would play it for 25 bucks, I mean if they pay me.

I bought it for 39.99 USD!

anything else is too much.

I've currently paid around $120 to get pre-launch bonuses on two systems (PS3 and PC) and with the level of enjoyment I've gotten out of the game, I'd put it on a short list of games I would buy a new system exclusively for, so I'd gauge its value around ~$400. I know that some people have an aversion to paying full price for anything, but GTA V is a game that absolutely justifies its price tag multiple times over. So my response to you would be "buy it at any price."

I'm waiting until it's 20-25 bucks. GCU will help with that around black friday-ish.

It is the only game I have purchased multiple times (for different systems). I had no problems installing it on my pc, and it runs flawlessly. There is so much to do in the game that you could spend literally days running around without touching the main story. Story is good, details in the world are incredible. Heck, the virtual radio is awesome. One of the few games I can honestly say is worth every penny I paid for it. Which in this case is full price. Twice.

Anyone who says "bargain bin" for GTA 5 is out of their mind. Seriously, it's worth the asking price.

Just depends on what kind of game you like. Personally, it does not appeal to me, although I might buy it at 5 or 10 dollars in a couple of years on a steam sale just to play around with. But I can understand also those who think it is great and are willing to pay full price. Another factor is that I have such a huge backlog of older games on Steam that I have pretty much decided to never to pay full price for a game again, except I might for a new Elder Scrolls single player game.

I will wait for $40, realistically its going to be a very, very long time until this game goes to even $20 during a sale, this game sold ridiculously well so your not going to see deep discounts.

I think I could get about 100hrs out of it, you also have to factor in expansion packs that may come a couple years down the line, or even mods.

being able to switch back and forth between 1st/3rd person and keyboardmouse/controller is pretty amazing to be honest. a little clunky... but switching to first person keyboard/mouse makes the combat a lot of fun. i can't aim worth crap with analog sticks... and driving with kbm isn't great. so it definitely works for me.

i paid full price on steam at release and don't regret it one bit. there were people with issues getting it to run past the start up screen at first... but i believe a patch fixed that. i know when i bought it there was a warning that came up in steam that warned you about the problem and stated that rockstar was offering no questions asked refunds. not sure if that still applies or not.

like what? GTA4 was good but I didn't really consider it something I could do a lot in

like shoot the stores and kill the people in it without "creeping" the door open. Like I can go inside, and pull out the gun at any moment!

Which stores? If you want to rob a gas station or similar you can go in with a gun and shoot people...

Anyone who says "bargain bin" for GTA 5 is out of their mind. Seriously, it's worth the asking price.

No, it isn't:

- Seriously cut back campaign with disjointed missions randomly shoved in - you start the heists after you pull a house down the hill to pay off some "major" player even though you have no problem killing dozens of others major players (and bashing Simon say in the beginning, never mind what you do to Merryweather). Half the heists you either get very little or have to give back what you stole. Not enough heists. Movie producer thing goes nowhere. David Weston dead-ends early too.

- Sandy Shores is neglected after a few throwaway missions with Trevor, and what happened to Trevor Phillips Enterprises? What about Trevor's safehouse in the LS? Not even mentioned?

- Michaels family randomly disappears and then just as randomly pops up 90% towards the end with some character development randomly thrown in, still way too little.

- No character development - already mentioned Trevor, Franklin leaves the hood and that's it, then Lamar magically turns up towards the end.

- Strangers and Freaks is partial filler - 5 towing missions? Random skydiving?

- The world is empty, of course you can't enter any buildings or interact with anything unless Rockstar built it in.

- No overall plot, you end up killing a few groups just because of a tenuous link from the past which could have been interesting but just ends up rather trite and generic - the Kortz shootout was the only highlight from that angle. Otherwise a whole pile of the game is you following some corrupt coppers just because instead of just capping them in the first place (which would have turned out to be a better plot with those consequences). What plot lines there are are poorly developed (if at all) see above.

Rockstar focusses too much on the online rubbish and neglected the rest. Its a whole lot of random missions with little cohesion or character focus. IV went places, even the original San Andreas (which I never liked) went somewhere. So did III and Vice City and they all had a single character. You have 3 protagonists you need a lot more campaign. This, as cheap as you can get it.

Its worth the $45-$47 price you cant get it frequently for from Green Man Gaming with one of their discount codes.

Never got into the games after they went 3d, I know I do like some of the Knock offs who would not be around if it wasn't for GTA. Just Cause 2, Saints Row, Mafia 2 but the plain old GTA games just seem like they are trying to be real (in a movie way) and gritty and seem silly, JC2, and SR games know they are over the top and celebrate it. If i had to pick JC2 would be the one I would buy. BUT I have not played the newest GTA, but to be truthful they all seem the same to me, better graphics, more vehicles, wider range of missions, but the same game since 3.

I remember GTA 1 & 2. Especially 2 running on my cousin's Pentium II 200Mhz MMX. Of course my crappy 133 Mhz Pentium I couldn't run it or lag terribly.

Bought GTA V on 360 for 60$ I think, if I was able to trade that in for a PC version I would. Otherwise, its not worth it to me to buy it a second time. If I want it bad enough, im sure I will figure something out.

I've paid retail twice for this game on PS3 and PC, considered completely worth it if you enjoy GTA Online. I've got enough hours out of this game and still playing.

Finished single player on PS3, once is enough.
