No, I did the run. I don't miss it at all. Wow is not a job. Its supposed to be fun. I want to log in, mash buttons and collect epic loot. I don't want to spend half the time wiping then have the group fail because someone couldn't follow directions.

God forbid some parts of the game were hard and made people think what they were doing It will get easier with gear and nerfs to the raids and with easy to access pvp gear, just wait you cant do everything the instant it comes out. Kinda like how you cant get the ultimate weapon in FF games without playing through it for awhile.

Guild runs in dungeons are always easier than PUG's because guildies tend to know each other and won't act like an idiot - they'll actually try to learn the dungeon so the group is successful.

It's why coordinated groups tend to win in PVP as well .

Funny to see this in trade chat yesterday:

Question: "Why can't we [alliance] win TB yet we dominated in WG [Wintergrasp]?"
Answer: "Because in WG we could easily outnumber the horde, in TB - we can't"

Same thing happened in AB and WSG - unless it was a purposely built to win PVP alliance group, the horde would easily steamroll Alliance most of the time.

Alliance on the server I'm on are very good at PVE [which makes sense since it's a PVE server], yet most suck or dislike PVP.

I haven't healbotted or dps'd in any dungeon yet - but I suspect it's pretty much the same mess I saw in WOTLK until people were geared and knew the dungeons.

It isn't about the gaming being hard though... it's about the fact that no matter how well you play, some other player is going to play terribly and completely ruin it for you. It's pretty much the "risk" you take when you play multiplayer. You wonder why I almost always play single player games .

EDIT:

Mmm tasty Sandy Bridge makin' my WoW a bit smoother... although, my icons are odd... they act like the gamma was turned up, so they're brighter than normal.

Actually I had no idea you played anything other than wow. And that risk goes for every activity not just wow.

Got my new new mouse. This time a razer imperator. Decently smaller than the logitech, but still larger than the older razer ambidextrous ones. I'll probably keep this one, but I don't know why they think they have to keep making these big mice designed to strap your entire hand in it. I like being able to just flick the end of my fingers for movement and while much better, this one still isn't that good for this.

Yeah they are all a joke for me..in a guild group. In LFD some are hard because 85% of the wow population is horrible.

I thought this too but lately I've been going in LFD solo or with 1 other and rarely have issues. typically it's more people being asshats not that they're fail. someone told me to shut off wake spams (announces when you do things, like interrupt or pop CD'd) I simply told him if he didn't like it he was welcome to wait another 30-40min for a tank that may or may not have the same mod.

Of course, you always have to rely on other people in life to live up to the role that they're in or the expectations that you've put on them. The one thing is that WoW, as odd as it sounds, is largely a single player game while leveling. You don't have to group about 99% of the time and this really shows when some people have to group.

I've always said that WoW needs to change in some manner to try to make people want to group and hopefully learn how to play together properly. The problem with this is that it would honestly make WoW less appealing or it simply wouldn't help. For example, if they just removed the group experience penalty, people would probably group up just to nuke mobs but there still wouldn't be any co-operative action similar to dungeons/raids. If the game was more like Final Fantasy XI where you had to group to do anything past level 5, well... I bet WoW would not have nearly the subscriber base that it does have.

I'm waiting for the day when I can clone myself 9 times so I can just raid with myself .

Big mice are designed for your entire hand to cup it while moving. My Logitech G700 is like this. It makes me wonder if you'd prefer the "claw" type of mice.

Yup this is correct. 'Palm' and 'claw' are two completely different styles of using a mouse.

Lupi have you tried Logitech G9 series? These are designed for people who use the 'claw' grip and it's what I've been using for the past couple years.

Added 2 more heroics last night (first time tanking on my pally in heroics). First run was HoO, did the 3 downstairs bosses and only the 1 upstairs for the quest (2 of our group kept DCing). Only wipe was when healer DC'd. Then did lost city - We had probably 4-5 wipes. 2 from 1st boss because dps couldn't stay out of the mines. 1 on lockmaw because the healer decided to hump the bosses tail. I think 2 on end boss because a warrior died before the 2nd phase twice and then left.

Last one I tried was a 518. Don't think any local places have had a 9 series in, or at least on display.

Go play something else then. The fun part of this game to most has been the challenge. There wasn't much challenge in wrath, so many of us are actually enjoying cata raids and such.

Heh you may want to wait until patch goes live. I have a feeling they gonna do some more to frost mages.

My main is a druid and we are getting destroyed in the patch. Figures that id be running a rest sham comp as well. I have a dk but it is so boring to play and I don't want to pally heal either cause ret is horrible.

Yeah I have an 85 druid, mage, and hunter. I'm happy that mages haven't been nerfed too much yet for pvp but i think it is coming. So far I think they just adjusted Ring, poly, and decreased frost damage to frozen targets

Ahh the good old days when heroics were actually harder than the regular instance, anyone miss shattered halls 45min runs for that FUCKING KEY?

That was my favorite heroic in BC...took so long to finish my first couple of times.

To be honest they shouldn't nerf heroics at all. As a holy priest yes i had a hard time healing in heroics when i first hit item level 329. This wasnt due to the gear, but the lack of cc and knowledge of mechanics. After I got a few pieces of 346 and exhalted reps heroics are cake now. Seems that the majority of WoW players are noobish.

The only dungeon that i find to be a challenge is Grim Batol and only on the 2nd and 3rd boss. 2nd boss the tank must know how to position the boss for when he gets the shield phase its easy to move out of the way. 3rd boss DPS normally drop the ball and don't kill the add.

We have moved on to Blackrock descent and have downed Magmaw and worked on Omnitron for about 4 pulls before our tanks had to go. These fights are not bad, its just getting used to the mechanics of each fight. Baradin hold boss was easy to down as well.

I don't understand why they are nerfing heroics when players need to learn to coordinate when they hit the 10-25 man raids. I didn't play WOTLK or BC last i played we were doing MC and BWL. Those were tough to run and players were better then IMO.

Seems like most DPS classes don't even realize they have CC's to use and don't know how to listen to instructions. Most players don't even know how to interrupt which is sad.

That's not really sad, it's just what you get with a game that is tuned towards the casual MMO player. Plus, these players haven't needed CC's or interrupts for quite some time. When you pug, then you're at the mercy of whatever is given to you and someone in the group will need to communicate what needs to be cc'd and what needs to be killed first. That's just the name of the game.

This is the very reason I've only ran 3 heroics and they've all been guild runs. I just won't pug until it gets to be faceroll easy.

This new PC has a 6950 and that doesn't happen to me as I had a YouTube video playing last night when I was too lazy to open a networked drive .

I'd play something else but I'm not playing wow or any other game ATM. Some people take the game seriously. Others just want to smash face, have a good time, and collect loot. There will always be more of the 2nd group than the first group.

This doesn't really seem like the "right" thread but it's hopefully close enough.

My fps blow raiding 25 mans. 12 fps is no fun and I have all the settings at fair or lower (I can't set them higher).

Are there any reviews that test WOW? Some solid personal recommendations? From previous upgrades it seems to be far more CPU dependent than GPU so the 2500K has caught my eye. I'm currently on some aging hardware and am considering a complete upgrade but really want to see what kind of performance increase I'd get. It would be nice to get full FPS and have the graphics cranked up. It's probably time for a faster boot drive as well since I think I've had this thing for 7 years.
