The harder ones that I know of are probably Arrested Development (easier with two healers or two tanks), Headed South and probably Pardon Denied.

The hardest part of any of them is trying to do them in PUGs .

Just one shot Arrested Development (used 2 healers) and Pardon Denied without any problems. A lot of the difficulty level for each achievement has to do with which classes you happen to have in group.

Yep, I kind of figured that Pardon Denied wouldn't be too hard... as a Paladin, I would nerf my TPS a bit and try to save 3xHP to use with a Word of Glory and just probably combine that with a cooldown.

The weird thing about Arrested Development is that you need to keep the tank's health low while he has a drakkonid on him, because the one move they use (Gravity Strike, I think) deals a percent of the target's current health (I think 40%).

switched from destro to affliction and i'm having lots more fun. Single target dps is lower but the fun factor of Soul Swap plus chain pulling for questing is fun.

Damn mount dropped in Stonecore heroic and I lost the roll like a little bitch. It was a guild run though, so at least somebody I like got it.

Acrocalypse Now says you can jump in the river and the crocs will evade. They didn't. Instead we stood on the croc statue heads behind the boss (spread out as much as possible). The boss wont evade, but the crocs will. Jump down when you have 20 crocs up and dps.

They patched the crocs about a week ago to not evade when their target is in the water and the guide hasn't been updated.

Is the reward for cataclysm GotH another proto drake? What type?

It's one of the stone drakes.

I'm leveling a pally right now and holy shit, did they nerf classic dungeons. And also holy shit, are prot pallies OP. Prot seems even with Ret's single target damage and rapes it on AOE, which is 90% of dungeons. So while leveling (in classic at least) prot pallys get instant queues, the highest dps and awesome self-healing between word of glory and seal of insight. It's pretty dumb. I don't even bother questing anymore because they spaced all the mobs out so much that I can't do any sort of decent aoe grinding.

My guild downed our first Cata raid boss last night, Magmaw 10-man. It took us 10 attempts in all, but none of them were really even close until the one where we got everything right. Our first few attempts were in vain until we switched our raid comp around. Once we made the adjustments, it took another few attempts for the new strategy on the parasites to work itself out and then it was cake.

I raid heal as a holy priest and was a bit nervous going in, given that my average item level was still sitting at 336. I found out, though, that Lightwell is insanely OP and I was right there behind our item level 353 druid tank healer and ahead of our better geared resto shaman. When I can actually upgrade more of my gear and get more throughput, watch out.

with 2 holy palys the boss might as well just despawn and give you loot for free

I’ve been running the TB Battleground and I have got to say that it is potentially the best Battleground Blizzard has implemented since AV. I had been running TB as a defender up until last night and even though my faction had been winning I could see the deeply flawed concept that Blizzard deliberately designed into this otherwise great fight..

Running as an attacker last night confirmed what I already knew, Blizzard needs to fix this BG. The fact that Blizzard has made any statement at all admitting that there are problems with TB tells you just how flawed it is. If it wasn’t a major problem Blizzard would simply ignore it.

It’s a shame that it’s so flawed because the battleground could be great. Blizzard was so concerned with ensuring that the taking of the battleground was meaningful to the attackers that they made the holding of the battleground by the defenders trivial.

To be honest the easiest way to “Win” TB as the attackers would be to get everyone you know to join the BG on a character from the opposing faction and throw the match. That way you have access to the Raid as well as the very nice daily quests. On top of that you are all but assured of holding TB on the next run and gaining the HP. While that’s not something I would consider doing I’m willing to bet it happens.

I’ve thought of a few simple solutions but based on past history Blizzard will implement something bizarre and difficult. Tenacity anyone?

One simple idea would be to make the conditions for winning the same for either side. Control 2 of the three objectives when the time runs out. If neither side controls 2 of the 3 then neither side gets access to the daily quests/Raid and both sides get the “Losers” share of honor points. The Battleground would stay unaligned until one of the factions takes it on a subsequent contest.

The only down side to this solution APPEARS to be that it makes the destruction of the towers, which adds time to the battleground clock, mutually beneficial to both sides not just the attackers. But the truth of the matter is that in the current configuration of the TB battleground the destruction of the towers is already totally unimportant to the defenders. There is a token defense of the towers once in a while but for the most part the defenders just Zerg up and move from one objective to the other. Not once while I was playing TB on defense did anyone in raid chat say “Get to the towers and defend them!” because no one on the defenders side cares.

The other simple solution I had was to change the ratio of attackers to defenders. Currently the BG keeps the sides even. Considering the fact that the defenders have an easier condition for victory why not increase the number of attackers versus defenders? Perhaps they could implement an ever increasing number of attackers allowed in depending on how long the defenders faction has held the battleground.

First run of the battleground after it has been taken by a faction = Even number of attackers to defenders

Second run - Five percent more attackers than defenders

Third run – Ten percent more attackers than defenders

Fourth run – Fifteen percent more attackers than defenders

Fifth run – Twenty percent more attackers than defenders

With this in place the unequal conditions for victory are still there but the attackers have an increasingly better chance of overcoming them. I really like this idea as it makes the defenders position progressively more desperate, and would help to ensure that one faction doesn’t hold TB forever.

There could be achievements associated with it as well.

Hold Tol Barad when the attackers have 5 % greater numbers (5 achievement points)

Hold Tol Barad when the attackers have 10 % greater numbers (10 achievement points)

Hold Tol Barad when the attackers have 15 % greater numbers (15 achievement points)

Hold Tol Barad when the attackers have 20% greater numbers (20 achievement points)
You could also include a clever and appropriate title for this achievement like “The immovable Object”, or “The Control Freak”.

The other thing to consider is the ease of the fix, either of these suggestions would be fairly simply however I would hazard a guess that the simplest idea would be changing the number of people allowed into the BG. It’s a much simpler solution than they used in WG with tenacity and IMO an elegant one.

why does your font suck?

What browser are you using? The Font is one that was selected from the drop down when I posted, "Arial" so I know it’s not, as was suggested in a previous response, a problem with the massage board not supporting the font.

firefox right now but it also happens in opera, and its only your posts regardless of forum. if you are always selecting a font and not using the default that is prob why

<- did not know you could select font till you said that, i almost never use the Adv editor and just use quick reply

"verdana" is apparently what every other post on this forum defaults to

So aside from the off topic comment, does anyone have any feedback regarding TB and my suggested fixes? Are any of you even running TB or are you waiting for blizzard to implement some sort of fix? I still believe that TB has the potential to be a great battleground, the best since AV. It has all the makings for large scale knock down drag out fight like AV was but the area is much smaller and the combat more concentrated and intense.


PS I will TRY and change the font so it wont bug people

I run TB every time I can. I enjoy it, it's just when the group doesn't listen to logic it drives me nuts.

i gave up trying to get into TB. i can queue at 14:59:59 and not get in, both O and D, i only have the victory achieve because of the bridge exploit and getting lucky with the lag. SO i cant really comment on it other then the fact that one side is at a very obvious disadvantage by design always seems really stupid to me. and TBH having it flip flop every battle is honestly the best way of doing it.

right now i log on check it once, if we have it i do 12 daily's, if not i do 6 and don't bother checking again

It’s just got so much potential that I hope they don’t mess it up with some complex fix that doesn’t truly address the issue. And I’ve hit the same problem with not being able to get in. We had a group of five people from my guild and we tried to run as a group. Two of us got in and three didn’t… not sure how they decide who gets in and who doesn’t.

Also how is the font now?
