No words yet on when 5.0.4 will be released? Usually it's what, about a month before expansion, so in a week or two maybe?

Also, I'm guessing the 11th character will be a feature of the expansion instead of the general client, although it would be great if everyone gets it (similar with what they do to the race, after 5.0.4).

I believe I had read that 5.0.4 was being released on August 28th, but I don't remember where I read that now.

after intial view of the trailer, it may be my 2nd favorite. will let it sit for a day or two then go back and watch again.

I didn't like the cinematic at all. This xpack was supposed to bring back horde v alliance, what do they show? Horde and alliance helping each other. Again.

In previous cinematics you knew what the "new threat" was. Based on this one we're... Fighting pandas? Who's the bad guy in this xpack?

edit: and if they didn't want to make this a kung-fu panda xpack, the trailer didn't help there. I was half-expecting to see a talking duck offer them noodles after the fight.

i also have a rogue that almost had the 2nd stage of legendary's but the guild i was running DS with fell apart.

The daggers still couldn't get me to the top on some fights. Of course, those are the encounters where I was fucked by the strategy in use or just the fight itself. For example, on ooze guy, if I was left on him the whole time, my DPS was by far higher than everyone else, and I dealt more damage to the spawns than even the Frost Death Knight would. However, I wasn't normally left on the boss.

Actually, I think I still won the meters on that fight regardless, but it was by a very small amount compared to the time or two where I got to sit on him (500-1000 DPS vs 3k DPS difference).

Heroic spine is by far the worst fight to have the daggers on. It's so annoying having to ensure that your stack isn't too high when you're dealing damage to adds prior to a tendon phase. If you're at 35-40 stacks, you should consider stopping. However, you also need to consider that your stacks can drop if you aren't careful. Nothing is worse than a Madness of the Destroyer proc on a fucking blood. What a waste.

Mists of Pandaria will continue with reduced difficulty of Heroic Dungeons, but coordinated players will find more fun content in Challenge Modes. You can't outgear them, you can only win by getting better. Leaderboards are still planned to allow you to compete with armory.
Cataclysm dungeons were too hard because they were tuned for groups of friends and guild members, rather than random people from the Dungeon Finder. Random groups don't guarantee progression from mistakes.

I think Blizzard hoped that people would get better, but unfortunately... when you design your game to be "casual friendly", you have to realize that there will always be people that just aren't that good. People have a desire to try out the progression content, and that doesn't necessarily mean the hardest content (heroic raids), but heroic dungeons aren't meant to be that hard. They're a stepping stone to the raid that provides slightly better gear. In some ways, heroics were harder than some raids!

I'm one of the bads who got turned off by Cat heroics

I really loved tanking/healing in WotLK heroics, so I decided to level my Paladin first in Cat (since, at that point, I'd resigned myself to being done with raiding and I was only looking for a main to run 5-mans with)... but I hit 85 and the ramp-up in difficulty from non-heroics to heroics was so huge that I really wasn't interested in slogging it out, so I ended up quitting the game for a year.

Heroics really required you to have the best gear from normals, and I think that's very counter-intuitive for most WoW players.

Wrath heroics where a joke. There were times we would do speed runs and finish them in less than 10 minutes. I do agree that cata was tough. The HoT seem to be easier than the orginal heroics.

Hour of Twilight heroics were really just boring... very boring. I wish they would just remove the trash and let you jump from boss to boss, because there was never a challenge in the trash. Although, I guess you could say that they definitely deserved the name then.

The bosses weren't too hard, but it is fun watching people die on Perothorn when I refuse to have him find me when I'm tanking. People will yell at me for it, and I just say, "stop being terrible, and you won't need me to do it." I have still never gotten the achievement for no one getting caught by the floating eyes.

Although, let's avoid Shadow Labyrinth or Shattered Halls style trash.
