Got my kingslayer last night, first time there and most of the groups first LK kill. It makes me cry when I realize how bad most players are. LK is so damn easy as is most of icc(not HM) I wasn't really interested in raiding right away just came back for cata and decided to raid a little to pass some time.

I heard that a lot of the new boss mechanics in Cataclysm require players to actually learn the fights and pay attention. Is this true?

This is one of the reasons why I quit playing WoW for so long.

yea not standing in fire is more important now, as well as knowing WTF to do, less stand and DPS type fights

speaking of DPS, numbers right now on live are just stupid with the 30% buff, 24k DPS yea that shouldn't be happening, whats worse is that people ask you how you do it and get mad when you tell them to look up the rotation and push buttons in the correct order

Yea, I would laugh too but I'm not in a guild. So I spend most of my raid time in pugs which typically have one or two people that don't belong. Actually thinking about either transferring to another server and joining a decent guild or starting a guild with some rl friends/family members for cata. It seems most of the problems guild I join have is people guild hopping, stick around for a few runs then leave for no apparent reason. I don't need the greatest players I just need people that will LISTEN to what is being said to them and I can make any encounter work. I really don't desire to be on the cutting edge but farming ICC should be easy mode at this point, but over half of my pugs/ guild pick up runs are fail.

I never minded answering questions on Enhancement Shamans or really any Shaman spec in general, but Enhancement proved a lot tougher to answer questions for because of how much gear could change your rotation. Combine that with an 11-ish step priority, and you had lots of 'splainin' to do! In hindsight, it probably would've been easier just to point them to EJ or MMOC .

Also, warlocks are OP as hell right now. I was in a dungeon with a 76 destro lock that could do 3.5 to 4k on a boss. Keep in mind that my Enhancement Shaman did 4.5k fully raid buffed in Naxxramas with full ilevel 213 gear. Methinks there is something wrong with that .

I haven't had time to really test my dps on an actually boss as I've been doing other things, but I was at like 6k or so against the dummy after first setting my talents. If I ever get around to fixing enchants and reforging it probably would go up a bit more.

And if you want to have some real fun farming old content, a demo lock does have a good lulz factor for this, felguard doing aoe melee and the walkable hellfire is pure win.

authenticator is your friend, I got mine free on my phone. Otherwise it's still only like $6 and saves you a ton of headache. Trust me my account was hacked twice, once in vanilla and once bc. As well as my bothers account and it takes a while to get everything back in place.

I have it on my phone. Blizz locked my account for "unusual activity". I cant remember my answer to my secret question at all and Im not at home to check my CD keys to unlock my account...

We had someone in our guild get his account hacked. Guild bank was cleaned out as well. Blizzard restored everything though it took them some time to investigate just to make sure we weren’t trying to pull a fast one.

If you don’t have an authenticator it’s only a matter of time until you are hacked. All someone needs is your e-mail address and the fact that you play wow and it’s open season on you. The problem stems from the fact that Blizzard doesn’t have an account lock out if you fail to enter the correct password. Because of that any 3rd grade kid with a brute force program can simply keep hitting your sign on indefinitely.

Blizzard’s account sign on procedure violates this VERY basic security rule and hence the constant flood of people getting hacked. And why would Blizzard do such a thing? My guess is that with twelve million subscribers Blizzard expected to have a flood of calls from people who got locked out of game because they couldn’t remember their password.

There is real money to be made by selling your stuff, and using your hacked account to spam for gold sites. When real money is on the line you can expect the worst out of people. Then there are the griefers and kids who do it just because they can, and trust me it’s not hard to do.

After our guild member got hacked we ALL got authenticators and guild access was removed for anyone that didn’t have one.

Talk it out with Blizzard Customer Support and try not to get frustrated. They ended up setting everything right for our guild and they should be able to do the same for you.

Interesting an authenticator and still potentially hacked. I’ve heard a few people that this has happened to though in the end it turned out to be a mistake and Blizzard unlocked the account.

I dont know.. could be the fact that I havent logged on for more than an hour in the past 2 weeks and played a few hours of SC2 last night.. but I wouldnt expect them to lock it just for that...

My old guild got 'hacked.' GM was rarely on and the guild bank and items got cleaned out twice in one month by his account. Once can happen but, twice in a month with no explanation? Yeah right. The scum made bank off of 60 users, 45 active.

Did read something about a spike in wow account hacks post battlenet takeover, not like anyone foresaw this with everyone now using "known" user ids.

What trouble are you having on Putty? Are you pushing him into a phase transition with an ooze already up? It's not a guaranteed wipe... well, maybe more so on heroic , but it can be beaten if your abom notices and doesn't waste the spit.

Other than that, I can't imagine anything else being a huge problem on normal... heroic is only a pain with trying to manage the disease and handling two oozes during the transition.

See I have an issue with the idea of "rotations". Can't think of a better way to drain all the fun out of playing WoW than to focus on knowing which "buttons to push in the correct order". I like to think there's more to playing than that...maybe that's why I like world pvp so much, it adds factors that can't be predicted and planned for and that's where things get badass.

I am curious though, given the above how does this rate:

5k dps as Fury with an avg ilvl of 250 - this is in 5 man heroics

i cant really comment on 5 mans but the warrior in that run i was talking about was right at the top with me in the 20k DPS range on most fights
