See I have an issue with the idea of "rotations". Can't think of a better way to drain all the fun out of playing WoW than to focus on knowing which "buttons to push in the correct order". I like to think there's more to playing than that...maybe that's why I like world pvp so much, it adds factors that can't be predicted and planned for and that's where things get badass.
I am curious though, given the above how does this rate:
5k dps as Fury with an avg ilvl of 250 - this is in 5 man heroics
What trouble are you having on Putty? Are you pushing him into a phase transition with an ooze already up? It's not a guaranteed wipe... well, maybe more so on heroic , but it can be beaten if your abom notices and doesn't waste the spit.
Other than that, I can't imagine anything else being a huge problem on normal... heroic is only a pain with trying to manage the disease and handling two oozes during the transition.
So is anyone using DX11 with the latest patch. I was reading about how to enable it and it sounds easy enough. Anyone have any feed back on it?
Also are the majority of you buying the Cata download or are you going to get a disk on the 7th?
For WotLK I did a midnight purchase (Pre order) from a local Game Stop that stayed open. Was sort of fun in a geek sort of way to stand in line and have everyone jabbering about their warlock did this or their fury warrior was going to do that. Listening to stories about guilds and people telling Chuck Norris jokes . yeah well the Chuck jokes were sort of lame but hey it was all part of the geek ambience.
If you are like me you are getting the download so you wont have to stand in line at midnight and then getting a copy on disk later.

Well last nights run went better than any of our previous attempts. Previously we never even got him to phase 3 so I dont think people really had their heads wrapped around what was going to happen then. Positioning issues mostly, and just bad luck. There was one fight where we were frozen by the gas but the orange ooze moved over and attacked us while frozen was very glitchy last night for some reason.
We only had one attempt where we knocked him to the next phase when the orange ooze was out and that was actually the 9%. Some people made some stupid mistakes and got trapped by the ooze on the floor and died which gives Putricide more health, otherwise we would have had him.
how does 1 enable DX11 with WoW?
DX11 isnt always for speed advantage but image quality. Plus something like my 5870 isnt stressed out at all to even lose frames except for something stupid like marrowgar's fire.
i enabled it no real difference with everything but water detail on ultra
for some reason setting water detail any higher then low makes all water vanish
That happened during the PTR too :\.
The orange ooze might shift slightly and act like it's trying to reacquire a target while you're frozen, but I've never seen it actually attack someone. This might occur if the person was right beside the ooze as I've never seen someone beside the ooze while under the effects of Tear Gas.
You mean stuck as in surrounded by ooze? That's just bad spatial awareness right there as ranged usually can keep around the middle, but not too clumped up to avoid everyone having to dodge a Malleable Goo. I usually do Putty as a melee DPS or tank, but I've done him on my Warlock (in 25-man) without a problem.
Also, Putricide can only be healed if Mutated Plague falls off a target and it's only applied to tanks. Everyone takes damage from the plague though.
I wouldn't waste my time on it unless it provides an actual speed advantage, but based on most DX11 tests I see on Anandtech, it actually reduces performance in most (if not all) games.
Just downed the Lich King for the first time. Cool beans.
On the DX11 thing I figure it would only be for eye candy anyway and that my HD6870 should be able to maintain 60 FPS even in DX11. still haven't given it a shot though
