and i did the new cooking daily and my total quest now about 100 greater than what it was pre patch, guess it requeried my actual total once i did a new one.

so, my hunter logged out in LHC to finish up EPL, and wakes up in the floating DK area.

and the FP in there won't let me out with a no known flight connection message.........

and his quest log is completely empty.

id fly to the town with the zepp/boat and take that, i can honestly say the only time i can ever remember taking a mage portal is out of a 25 man raid

Dal to Borean Tundra or Howling Fjord is quite flight the distance... do you remember having to go fight Maly and fly toward Nexus without a summon? PITA.

Then you have to be active with taking boats once your 4min flight is over. Not hard to see why portals are better.

looks like nessy's camp in north STV is actually an encampment now with what looks to be npc guards.

swamp of sorrows looks interesting. allies gained 2 encampements and seems from couple of quest i did that large amounts of phasing used there.



ah yes, extensive and seemless phasing as when i turned in a couple quest of the series and started the final one i turn around and find all horde npcs gone and am fighting off a VC style assault onto the camp of ally troops.

when i used to stand in dal doing nothing. people would spam WTB mage port for so long that flying/running to where they wanted to go would actually have been faster.

and yes i routinely flew from dal to maly, most times on the flight path because i was too lazy to do it manually

found a new (at least to me) thing, accepted a quest to kill a named mob and when givien the quest window it even show a seperate picture next to it of the mob.

Yes all the world changes are now live on the servers, you can make some of the new class combos and such. Just look at MMo Champion for all the details. you still cant fly or make goblin/worgens until you buy cata however

Wowhead too, it's not as nice as the one above, but it shows Red/Blue for Alliance/Horde if you need that info.

I hadn't been following the beta too closely (I logged in a few times early on), or the patch notes, but I was under the impression that this event would completely alter the old world. I was surprised to see that this wasn't the case. Even on the page linked above, majority of the zones say "minor" or "just a few" changes. I guess that is a good thing, since the world is still very familiar, but I'm surprised that they just moved a couple of things around, added a few small zones for leveling 80-85 and call it an expansion, collecting $40 from each account. Not to mention, leveling in these new small areas is going to be a nightmare for the first few weeks, a lot of waiting to finish quests.

Looks like all the race change stuff has been worked out judging from the number of holy cows I saw dancing in org last night.

If not for all the longevity achievements and such I'd lose, I'd think about deleting my UD rogue and starting new as goblin seeing how easy old world questing seems now compared to previous. Extremely heavy on the breadcrumb to quest hub, complete hub, then crumb to next like in wrath (and somewhat like BC although perfected more for wrath).




On an unrelated note, I was going to delete all the addon saved data before playing yesterday, but with the patch I just loaded up to get it installed first. Not sure why, but after the patch I had no disconnects from using any of the addons that before would be a 99% guarantee to d/c nor did I get knocked off during flight when tabbed out. Still need to delete my gatherer file though as that data with changed terrain is now seriously defunct.


As far as old world quest, seems they deleted all of them from everyones logs, BC/NR seems to have all stayed. They even have reset everyones progress on them (at least most) so you could go and do them again. Seems this was blizzs way to make sure no quest progression related bugs as even areas with no significant terrain changes still had minor adjustments. My main didn't complete loremaster, but was like 630/685 in Kal, but looking at the individual Kal areas now shows maybe 2 dozen complete quest and over half of those are pegged under the completed Sith area which seems to have seem fewest changeses of all zones.


Also, love those crashing AH prices and reduce required reagents. After last night I have about 25 complete darkmoon decks and enough non-complete cards to make about 25 more.

Even the zones that say minor, or only minor as far as the players interaction with the zone. You could consider each zone a major change in so far as they redid each zones graphics to the point of allowing old world flight,
