Even the zones that say minor, or only minor as far as the players interaction with the zone. You could consider each zone a major change in so far as they redid each zones graphics to the point of allowing old world flight,

Yeah, I was considering that after I posted that.I was also thinking about all of the quests changed for leveling, it is practically a new game. I guess I was just a little underwhelmed and expected to log in and see Azeroth and not recognize it.

If not for all the longevity achievements and such I'd lose, I'd think about deleting my UD rogue and starting new as goblin seeing how easy old world questing seems now compared to previous. Extremely heavy on the breadcrumb to quest hub, complete hub, then crumb to next like in wrath (and somewhat like BC although perfected more for wrath).

Old World is easy mode. It's very linear, do X quests here and visit this dude in another part of the zone.

I understand the idea behind the no portals thing, Blizzard is trying to make Dal a ghost town like Shat by forcing everyone to base in one of the old zones.
I think this is more than just silly I think it’s a bad decision. Blizzard has said that people leveling will still need to go to outlands at level 60 and Northrend at level 70. Removing the portals, unless they are replaced by some other method of rapid transit, is going to tick off a lot of people leveling new toons. As one example if you are leveling in Northrend and you want to get to a AH, unless you are a mage, or engineer, you have a long trip.

The interesting and almost unprecedented thing for an MMO, is the fact that in this patch Blizzard is adding a huge amount of new content for the low and mid range characters. Sure that’s because of the new races and the need to make people want to level a new toon, but again it's almost never done this way in online games. It's clever and shows blizzard knows how to get new players into the game. Unfortunately leveling 60 to 80 will still be the same old grind,

And in regards to that new low to mid level comment some fascinating things are going on. Talk about massive changes. I won’t spoil it for those that haven't had a chance to look around, I'll just say two things. There are now a massive number of new flight points all over the old zones. Things that have always been there are gone and new things have sprung up in the most unlikely places.

looks like shadow priest got hit with the nerf truck. last night i dueled another SP and would trade off from hitting each other with the one got hit healed to test dps. both of us are in full 264 gear and we could barely scratch 1500 dps.

1500? huh sound like you forgot a 0 or you were doing it wrong, everyone got nerfed but 1500 is low for level 70

The engineer only AH in Dalaran is now usable by everyone.

The other thing is that some of the places have not seemed to change more than maybe a reworking of the quest progression. It is somewhat disappointing to go to some places and see that nothing has changed, while going to other locations is way more exciting. Also that they really only changed two of the major cities to look any different is massively disappointing to me. It is almost as if they did not care to change areas. And yes the ability to fly over them is a great change, but with the amount of money that Blizzard has received they could afford a larger team (yes the team already is massive) to change every area more than just quest progression.

ok so my account was hacked a few months back. I got an email that someone created a trial account with my Email. How in the hell...

I have changed my password again, I do not have any keyloggers nada, I dont get how they keep getting my info...

WoW security, without an authenticator, is a complete joke. This is due to the policy that blizzard has in pace that allows unlimited sign in attempts for an account without a lock out, while using your e-mail address as your sign in name.

All someone needs to do to get into your account is know your- e-mail address and know you play WoW. At this point a five year old with a brute force program can get into your WoW account.

If you post on a forum like this (A WoW forum) and allow your e-mail address to be shown it’s only a matter of time before your WoW account is hacked. Without an authenticator It’s not a matter of “IF” it’s a matter of “When.”

Get an authenticator… Someone in our guild who NEVER bought gold or went to sketchy WoW sites got hacked prior to getting an authenticator. After a short investigation, Blizzard restored his account and all the items he lost as well as all the items that were taken from our guild bank. Everyone in our guild has authenticators now.

Yeah that’s a bit over the top in my opinion unless it’s in preparation for some changes to PvP in that area.

im a 80 with all 264 gear.

the priest i was dueling was similarly geared and did about the same in DPS on me.


i threw on my wrathful PVP gear and did almost 2000 damage on the priest i was dueling....

i used to be 1 or 2 for a 25 man ICC but looks like im fucked now.

im sure we will ahve a guild run to test out the nerfs and get wiped by marrogar a few times.

I know this isn’t Elitist Jerks here but your info is a bit thin to get any idea of exactly how much of a nerf your class was hit with. Likely you have some general idea and I don’t doubt that your DPS has decreased I just cant see a level 80 SP in 264 gear doing only 1500 Sustained DPS.

There were always a lot of FPs in EPL, just most weren't used as part of the tower system.


And while I haven't raided as one or played a high level one yet, huntards are so easy mode out soloing now, and the pet changes are damn sweet.

That makes it more difficult indeed but an authenticator is really the best way to go. I also use a pass phrase on my account but I still have an authenticator.

If it takes too long to get in to your account, people using a brute force program will move on to easier targets which there are plenty of considering the 13 million WoW players.

Best practice for passwords is a word not in a dictionary, use upper and lower case as well as numbers and special symbols. Depending on who you ask minimum password length should be 8 to 9 characters long, but the more the better. Unfortunately a lot of people have a hard time remembering their own phone number let alone a strong password.

Based on the Blizzard security policy, I think the authenticator is a great way to help insure a more secure WoW account and I strongly urge people to get one.

Nah I trust your info man, I just wasn’t sure what to make of it. This is especially true for me as I have never played a shadow priest and am not a huge PvP player. What would you say you would have gotten in DPS prior to the patch considering all variables to be the same?

I’m wondering if this isn’t more a buff to resilience as opposed to a nerf to SP damage, or perhaps a combination of the two.

As I spend most of my time in PvE I use the test dummy and not another PC. At worst, after the Hunter Nerf, I was getting about 4500 to 5500 DPS on the test dummies. After a lot of adjustments and a spec change to BM I’m usually 6000 DPS, including pet damage, at the test dummies and running a bit higher due to raid buffs in ICC 10 man raids.

Again this is PvE DPS so I’m not sure how this would relate to how much damage I could do to someone in PVP resilience gear. 264 is Wrathfull Gladiator right?

Hum I think I need to talk to our guild Shaman who has good PvP gear and see if he will let me shoot him for a while.

ill be testing it tonight a bit more thoroughly, i was more interested in checking out all the new environment changes last night. my wrathful gladiator gear is 277 and i have 5 pieces of it.

Haven't really raided since the 4.0 patch changes (besides 1 heroic 10 man)...are there any cool new quests with this change or was it all cosmetic from an 80 standpoint?
