If it despawns you must leave the cave until you get the notification that you've entered the outdoor area. You can then go back in and he will be there again to take up the escort. As far as finishing it, just mount up and run out, just have to watch out for the damn big worm bastard.

many times i tried, if you run over the rocks to the right he de spawns and you dont get credit, if you run to the left unless you are a paly or DK with mount speed increase you cant beat the worm

A lot of people on trade today are saying heroics were nerfed, but I can't find any official info on it. I guess trash mobs seem easier but I can't tell on the bosses. I figured it was just because people are getting better gear and learning the mechanics, but I don't know.

when you run to the right at the rocks dismount walk/run over and move up just a bit... make sure not to go far till you see him "drop" down behind you or he will try and run around the circle and thus into the big worm and get ate. Once he is behind you, mount or just run out

I was having the same issue as you as I was just mounting and running out and he always vanished after those rocks. A guildy told me the above and its worked everytime since.

Cataclysm or no, some things will never change

Happens in any MMO - it must be a bitch to try and balance out everything considering how many different variations there are with talents, classes, gear, game code, net code, etc.

Typically when the healadin's complain - it's because other healing spec classes are killing them on a healing chart... At least that's what I hear whenever running around on my priest.

it's just so hard to give up your character that has all your mounts, achievements, reps, server notoriety, etc.

I feel the same. My rogue has over 100k honor kills, which is almost halfway to 250k. Instead I started Cata with my Mage whom I'll need to build up HKs for my bloodthirsty title from 10k.

It will be nice whenever they finally patch it so all those achievements carry over to your account vice char.

The few who really do enjoy being heal spec'd pallies can be very vocal on the forums and in game. Back a few years ago when I was raiding with various groups - the leaders were very specific about not posting "charts" [if you did - you would be booted from the raid and not asked back]. However, whenever it was a guild run, the holy pallies would boast and brag at their healing #'s and would complain about any nerfs that would happen. I don't know - maybe I just don't take this game as serious as some people do - I just spec my priest to my play style and have received a lot of compliments on keeping people from dying [most of the time it helps to have a group that knows their class and how to work the dungeons].

As for the rogue/mount post - completely understand. But once you get the fast mounts for your other toons, the gold/rep comes pretty fast.

So i hit 85 at 3am this morning.... now i need to gear out my Warrior Tank for running dungeons... capped out at JP at the start of Cata... so need to figure out what i'm buying first... and what factions i need to level up rep to gear out my warrior.

it's more like, I'll probably never see Attumen's mount drop again or find another group to get the Ulduar/Icecrown drakes, or do another "Immortal" Naxx run.

Until they literally ungimp combat spec for rogues I refuse to go back to my main of 7 years..

yeh shes got all my achievements.. but they are trying to pigeon hole rogues into using daggers if you want to be competitive..

sorry you cant just take away my spec.. I like rogues with big swords/axes

so for now I play my DW Frost DK. for that same reason =D

Oh...those kinds of mounts.

I suspect you will once Cataclysm gets old [maybe a month or 2] - people might be willing to help run those areas or will want to run them with their alts. I remember our guild purposely put groups together to run the older areas specifically to get achievements/mounts/rewards - it was pretty insane.

Logging in last night [holy crap - what's with the long load times?] - very weird to find that Dalaran has become a ghost town...

I was a bit shocked to see my badges were turned into gold too...

And numerous other things...

I've been away way too long...

How exactly can you "force" other players to fight your quest mob at CoC? Does the mob spawn so quickly that the people that just got done don't have time to get away?

You aren't truly forced to fight it, but given the fact that most players have no reason to leave the arena floor, they may think the boss spawning next is theirs. This can be caused by two reasons... CoC is new and people don't know the boss order or the fact that only half the bosses actually say who spawned it (in yells).

In my case, my group's tank was simply helping out a guildie and had already done CoC. So, he would not receive the quest pop-up and did not know if the mob was ours or not unless he was told.

It's easy to despawn them though, so I had more fun doing that as punishment for those fuckers making my CoC take over an hour to complete.

then please explain how you did it without the fucker despawning or refusing to run over the rock or just bugging the fuck out.

im not alone on this every guildie complained about it last night and there is bitching on other sites about it as well

Go up to the top of the stone wall ramp after the big worm passes. Here's the important part... WAIT FOR PEBBLE TO GET UP TO RIGHT BESIDE YOU. Then fall down and continue out. If you simply run off the ramp without letting Pebble catch up, he will try and run around and despawn.

Im doing all PvP right now. So much more fun than PvE and I can stop and continue anytime I want rather than sit through an entire raid.

Ahh, ok. When I was doing the other quests there yesterday, I saw the quest exclamation mark keeping popping on and off on my mini-map. I just assumed that once somebody took the quest, it was blocked off until they finished, so I'm not even going to bother with it for quite some time. I'll go back in a month or so with some guildies and take care of it, but not before then.

so just entered my first dungeon of the expansion, swapped back to destro, summed imp.....and the bastard just sits there. all his controls are greyed out and when I move out or range poop he goes away.

The way healing (and dps/avoidance stats) scale from 80-85 is just retarded. My 80 Priest's spells heal for maybe 20%-25% less than an 85's. But they take a tenth of the mana. Dumb dah-dumb dumb dumb.

•Holy Concentration's mana regeneration component has been increased from 10/20% to 20/40%.

•Argaloth now respects the faction that kills him and does not drop trinkets for the opposing faction.

•The doors controlled by the Halfus and Ascendant Council encounters should no longer become stuck after a soft reset.

Blackwing Descent
•Arcanotron's Shield should only proc off of player attacks and not things like Searing Totem, pets, etc.
•Players can no longer engage Nefarian without killing all three sub-bosses first.

Deadmines
•Defias Blood Wizards, Defias Shadowguards, and Defias Enforcers summoned during the Vanessa VanCleef encounter no longer award experience.

Halls of Origination
•Spatial Anomaly can no longer critically hit.
•Setesh's movement speed has been decreased.

Lost City of the Tol'vir
•Frenzied Crocolisks should always despawn when Lockmaw resets.

Shadowfang Keep
•Troll druids in particular, when shapeshifting into Cat/Bear form, were dealing an extra 5% damage to themselves via Beast Slaying when afflicted by Barion Ashbury's Asphyxiate. This caused them to die instead of being taken down to 1 health. This has been corrected and Asphyxiate now properly ignores damage modifiers.

The Stonecore
•Slabhide can no longer be killed while he's in his air phase, and can be properly killed when he's back on the ground.
•Flame Ascendants are now dropping loot that is appropriate for non-elite creatures.

Stratholme
•Eyes of Naxxramas will now spawn a set number of Gargoyles (2).
•The Vortex Pinnacle
•The "corpse-catching" mechanic now properly teleports players to the entrance platform of the dungeon.

Items
•Normal and Heroic versions of the Corrupted Egg Shell were not properly granting mana. This has been corrected.
•The Bloodthirsty Gladiator's Insignia of Victory now correctly grants Strength when it procs, rather than Agility.
•All of the Bloodthirsty and Vicious Gladiator gloves now have the appropriate glove bonuses for their respective classes.
•Players can no longer buy the opposing faction's mounts in Alterac Valley.

Twilight Highlands
•Grot Deathblow (Dragonmaw Quartermaster) and Craw MacGraw (Wildhammer Quartermaster) can no longer be killed by members of the opposing faction.
•"Bring Down the High Shaman" and "Warlord Halthar is Back" are now group quests.
•The amount of Wildhammer Food Stores required to complete the associated quests has been reduced to 10, down from 15. Please note the quest text will still state that 15 are needed until a client-side patch can be implemented to correct this.

•Players are no longer able to receive Efficient Excavations before completing the quest "Do the Honors".

•Players can now ride the Seahorse in Darkbreak and Tenebrous Cavern.

Bummed about the reduced Obsidian spawn rate in Hyjal... it spawned so fast, I could literally mine a vein, turn around, look back and see that it spawned again already! I'll probably need to farm even more since my Shaman needs to level JC and Engineering without his own Mining.

I'm also glad to see that you can finally mount in the last city in Vashj'ir... it made it quite annoying when playing in there.

Hopefully now that I got 475 JC, I'll get the broken trinkets to drop. I could really use the hit rating from the Panther trinket since Shamans need over 1600 hit rating!

my brother maxed out Arch last night, man its fucking boring to level

I've got about 10 obsidian and 25 elementium stacks along with around a dozen green gems and starting to think I'll just go and level up JC now instead of getting a couple more levels in my BS so I could level him instead. Plus when I looked through couldn't really see much advantage to leveling BS now as 2 of my 3 plate wearers are only 70.

Hey Lupi, here is a tip for getting cloth.

Find a 525 Alchemist and have them make you Potion of treasure finding.

I bought the materials and ended up with 6 for about 800g. You can also look on the AH for the potion. I've found some that were very underpriced.

Go to deepholm (west side) where all the little low hp flayer packs run around. Use potion and AOE these. They have 10% of normal hp and give normal item drops.

The potion will give you occasional chests that usually have 6-10 cloth or volatiles + gold. Occasionally they will only have gold. With this plus the normal cloth the mobs drop, you'll get between 175-350 cloth per hour. In addition to that, I've been getting on average of 10-12 greens, and 200g worth of vendor trash. I've also gotten several boe blue drops and some jc recipes I've sold for 700g each.

I was the only one doing it on my server but as of last night there were a few others that caught on. It doesn't matter much because they are almost instant respawn. Just kill the ones u at, mount up and you should find another pack in that area within 20 seconds. That is with other farmers around.

I'm just letting you guys know because I'm pretty sure it'll get nerfed soon.

Figured id comment on this as its still working. I posted it on my guild forums and a guildie was doing it yesterday and was in awe of the drops, the final tell i got from him was this "3 hours 900 cloth 1000 gold"

not sure if the 1000g was simply from vendor trash or greens as well, anyway pretty insane 900 cloth is 180 bolts, stack of 20 bolts sells for ~900 gold on Ner'zhul right now

Looks like I need to push to level my alchemy just to get that then. Only problem is that I have such a low amount of Stormvine and Whiptail . I have Heartbloom and Cinderblossom out the wazoo.
