what class/spec? I'm only 315 @ 84... it's killing me that I'm vendoring like 90% of quest rewards because I'm a prot pally and all the rewards seem to be for dps.

That's one of the things that actually boosts me up on my prot pally. I still have stuff like my ilevel 264 trinket, which I can't seem to replace with anything decent.

One thing I had to do was actually use a Therazane DPS ring as one of my tanking rings simply because it provided a lot of health over my old ICC ring (yet no actual defensive stats).

Heck... my tanking weapon? It's actually... well, I assume it was designed for DPS over tanking. The thing is, Expertise is a good threat stat and Mastery isn't a bad tanking stat for Paladins.

Yay for the glop fix, but, boo for skull crusher the mountain final quest in TH still being bugged... Blizz says they know about it.

Btw, frustrating for dps random heroics queue being 40 mins just to run into so many fail players and it falls apart quickly.

ive got about 38% avoidance and 150k hp buffed now...which is far better then most other tanks ive seen

I'm sitting on 62% avoidance (if i'm reading this right).. +13 mastery and 123K unbuffed.

Actually had a good pug last night, did Heroic Stonecore and we one shotted the ground slam guy...while this is easy with guildies this is the first time a pug did well. Restores hope in humanity.

You guys really count block at part of avoidance even though it's only 30%(?) reduction? My dk is at 21% avoidance with 17.84 mastery and 144k unbuffed. But I'm also hit capped and damn near expertise capped for dodge.

idk if block is counted i just have a macro that i use to tell me my avoidance. i was talking to a healer in my guild and she said the main problem is not with the tank being undergeared, but its hard to find good heal items...that and retarded dps sitting in ground effects they shouldn't be. idk how accurate my macro is, it still tries to factor defense rating, but that shouldn't matter since there is no defense rating.

well first i get punted down the mountain which is normal then I fly back up there and Skullcrusher is standing there with 7.5% health remaining and evading. There's 2 NPCs just standing there doing nothing either. No altars are clickable. Wowhead comments say the same thing for the most part.

Also what's happening sometimes is after I abandon it and try to start it, I right click the ! mark and WoW crashes completely.

BUT it's working now that I tried again.

i was always told to use Dodge+block+parry to figure out the avoidance numbers... but now that mastery is in effect, i dont know how this is figured into it as well... i've been looking (everywhere except EJ.. i hate those people) and trying to figure out the new calculations.

I've always considered block as Mitigation, since you still take damage when you block. Just Less of it - 1/3rd, in this case. Unless you're a Warrior and have an added chance to 'Critical Block'.

Dodge + Parry + Chance To Be Missed = Avoidance.

5% base miss + your dodge on your char pane (not highlighted tooltip!) + your parry on the char pane (not highlighted tooltip!).

which puts me at

5%+11.73+10.38 = 27.11
