Downed Shannox as a healer (Paladin).

Pretty intense fight. We didn't keep Rageface up. We offed him, and I was on the Shannox tank full time.

i had Chelley's Sterilized Scalpel drop for me last night in firelands doing a trash run. it dropped on the second group of scorpions just down from the entrance.

i was on the fence if i should sell it at AH for 40K or equip it. so since this was my 4th trash run and after killing many many moobs it was the first epic drop. so the chances of seeing another epic drop is not that great i decided to equip it. my warlock does much better DPS now.

now just need to work on getting rid of the blue 353 gear i have left like the bracers, head and neck.

The 353 items are purples from the Zul Heroics, then again they might as well be blues as previous Purples were set at 359. Some of the 353 drops are still fairly high up in the BIS rankings.

As for Firelands, our group has gotten a purple every other trash run in Firelands and after two trash runs everyone in the group has enough rep to get the back piece.

That’s a nice weapon drop you got, I guess the questions are

• Will it drop in price in the future? Likely
• Any chance you will get the drop again?
• Is there anything else you can buy for the 40 K you will get that will be remotely as good?

I've had great luck with FL epic drops. Farm the place solo on my DK (in only quest gear). Last night was a great night in that I got 3 epic drops for only about 2.5 hours of farming. Got the tank trinket (Scales of Life?) and the strength/exp neck x 2. Sold the tank trinket pretty quickly for 35k and listed the neck for 30k, but would take 20-25 if someone asked. I'm still hoping for the polearm or xbow since they are huge sellers.

Edit: I have that SP dagger on my resto druid. It will last me until the rag hammer, but if I was a caster DPS, I wouldn't take it. There are way too many +hit weapons in Firelands especially when you could sell that thing for 40k+ and down a few bosses for a staff or other +hit caster weapon.

Finding that my e8400/GTX460 isn't completely up to the task, even just in cities sometimes I get some lag (used to run Dal buttery with a GTX 260 previously so obviously they've increased the requirements).

Can you guys tell me how much improvement you've seen going from dual core to quad core? Or is video more important? Used to be CPU/RAM was 80% of the fight, want to make sure that's still true before deciding upgrade path.

WoW may be the most spec-friendly MMORPG out there. I'm still using a 8800 GS on a Core2 Duo E4400 (2.0 GHz) and having absolutely no problem with anything.

Finding that my e8400/GTX460 isn't completely up to the task, even just in cities sometimes I get some lag (used to run Dal buttery with a GTX 260 previously so obviously they've increased the requirements).

I'd say WoW is still heavily CPU dependent, but it's not like it doesn't use the graphics card at all. Fancy things like fire and water effects can tax your card pretty well. My laptop (Dell XPS M1530 with a C2D and 8800gt) has to play at lower settings since the release of Cataclysm.

Ha! Nope, not trolling, just wondering why I'm seeing some hesitation at times when I didn't used to with a GTX 260 versus now with a GTX 460 (everything else in there pretty much the same). Was used to running 25 mans in the boss fights with everything maxed and no slowdowns at all, now just in world see some slight hesitations. Might be my HDD, I'm using an old in the box right now. Might go to an SSD, which I've heard will decrease loading screen times significantly.

Thanks, that's pretty much what I was looking for. Figure if I'm going to update might as well hit the parts that will impact my game performance the most.

yea if you build now your GPU is fine all you need is a mobo CPU and ram

SSDs help with load times but that only does so much and its mainly on logging in or zoning into an instance

basically this, it takes a MASSIVE number of hours to get to max level and its all because you are often flying from winterspring to tanaris for nodes

leveling up takes a stupid amount of mats and the rewards are crap, you get a title and the possibility of a reskinned raptor mount, a AQ bug mount and them some epic items which had use if you were lucky enough to get them right when the xpac hit but now they are all a tier behind

Hit 85 last night, trying to gear up for heroics. I need 329 I guess and I'm at 326. Need to get a few more rep rewards. Am I going to be able to heal the easy heroics well enough once I hit 329 (disc priest)?

The level 85 regulars I did yesterday were stupid easy boring.

I cheesed my way into the 329 level req with crafted pvp gear.

Was fine.

But this is a good thing. Blow through regular dungeons and pick up your tier set.

If anyone follows Swifty, supposedly he got perma banned for crashing the realm he was on when he was doing like a livestream and GM banned him while streaming.

He has a fanbase derived from Youtube, they follow his stream and he scheduled a giveaway from one of his sponsors, Razer. The giveaway took place inside the game World of Warcraft. So many people showed up that it crashed the server from there being too many people in one zone. Whether this was his intention or not is the main question.

Swifty is some warrior who does some video showing off "nifty warrior tricks." I've seen a few of them, and I guess they're entertaining. The biggest complaint I see is that none of his tricks are really new.

The only trouble I could conceive would be from a tank that is too used to having over-geared people with him. I've tanked on my Paladin (he's just heroic-geared) with geared healers and not-so-geared healers, and it's a night and day difference between the two. I actually have to *gasp* CC!

My old guild (I currently don't have an active WoW subscription) is looking for new dedicated raiders for 10-man. Preference would be for healers and ranged DPS, but I believe they will consider anyone who could commit to a regular schedule. I believe they have not been able to kill anything yet in Firelands because of attendance problems and kept having to cancel raids because they're 1-2 people short.

The guild is not hardcore, pretty laid back (mid-core is the term we've been using) and raid only three nights a week (T-W-Th, 8-11pm Central), but they do usually clear all regular raid contents (and some heroics) before the next patch comes out. This is a veteran guild on the server, is level 25 (not sure if it's really special, I just thought I threw it out there) and has history all the way back to vanilla.

I've been getting a bunch of those lately too (in my spam box). Problem is, they're sending to an email address which I don't use for my Blizz account and the user name is wrong. I assume those are all phishing attempts.
