Build 16837 will be deployed to the PTR realms soon.

Patch Highlights
•Creatures that are outdoors in the world and are Level-90 and above, now have a chance to drop Lesser Charms of Good Fortune.
•Spells that increase healer mana pools were reduced to 300% mana increase, down from 400%.
•Healing spells that automatically select targets will now all prefer player targets with the lowest health.
•Players with full health no longer count towards the cap for area-of-effect healing abilities and spells.
•Battle Fatigue now reduces the amount of healing and absorbs by 45%, up from 30%.
•PvP Power bonus to healing is now based on class and specialization.
•Healing specializations receive a 100% bonus to healing from PvP Power.
•Damage specializations for Druids, Monks, Paladins, and Shamans receive a 70% bonus to healing from PvP Power.
•All other specializations and classes (including tanking) receive a 40% bonus to healing from PvP Power.

•Demonic Gateway can now be attacked and killed by enemy players. Each gateway has 50% of the summoning Warlock's health, and 100% of their resilience.
•Titan's Grip now also works with Polearms and Staves.
•Mage Tier 2 set bonus was changed to no longer grant an instant cast spell.

- is it me or are disc priests way OP with atonement? Seems like they do massive heals with very little overhealing. How does that happen?
- is it me or does monk healing do way too much overhealing (on meters, probably due to renewing mists) while managing very little actual healing when needed? Is it a timing issue on my end where I have to be the 1st to get to them before the other healers do? I believe "healing done" does NOT include "overhealing". So how do they pull off actual heals on the meter with little overhealing when I'm going nuts but most is just registering as overhealing? Frustrating.

I still like playing a monk healer, but very little is shown for the efforts in most fights. Or maybe it's just because they actually are overpowered.

Can someone explain what gives high hps?
- when people are actually taking damage correct? Or does overhealing count too?

Is this game still worth the play? Its a old game but i have only have 1 game on my pc right now and i was wondering if its worth playing still. Is it fun?

HPS only counts for actual heals that healed health. And it is a timing issue, heal comp issue and damage issue. If a raid group takes no damage that can be avoided, then all healers will seem lower, with disc priests topping teh charts as their absorbs will be quite powerful. If it is a high damage fight where people are constantly taking some form of damage, monks and druids do well. Paladins do well reguardless if they play right and use beacon to its full potential.

My overhealing is massive because of renewing mist and Uplift healing mainly only 4/6-9 targets. However my HPS is really high on any aoe damage healing fight as well. (~90k Primordious, ~75k on light phase durumu, **~90-120k Fire phase Heroic Iron qion, ~75k Megaera, etc.)

However fights like twins, tortos, normal iron qion, etc. damage is much lower in an aoe situation disc priests can sheild most of them fine. Thus other healers seem smaller (where I average near 50k)

**We attempted heroic Iron qion last week, and the fire phase is a huge spread AoE healing fight that, going all out I was hitting close to 120k HPS (no modifiers). [Still a lot of overhealing also]

Also Primordious I ranked in top 100 at 92k HPS.

Monks are strong healers at the moment. (Not the best by any means, because paladins and disc priests can put out high numbers too with good utility depending on the fight)

All these numbers I presented were in a 10m system.


As a sidenote, I have been begining to like Zen Sphere as a talent option.

Been so busy last couple of weeks doing winter becomes summer over 48 hours work I haven't run any raids recently. On the good side the last couple of wings should be fairly easy by the time I do them.

Another large PTR notes update tonight, with the interesting non class specific changes below!

•Shado-Pan and The August Celestials daily quests no longer have a faction prerequisite to be Revered with the Golden Lotus.

•A Test of Valor: Reduced the amount of Valor needed for this achievement to 3000 Valor Points, down from 6000.
•Picking up the Alliance or Horde flag while in a Rated Battleground now increases damage taken by 50% for characters in a tanking specialization, and increases damage taken by 20% for characters in a non-tanking specialization.
•Tyrannical weapons no longer have a conquest-earned prerequisite to purchase them.

- what do you get as the next part of the legendary quest? After the 6000 valor you have more quests to do but ultimately what do you get as a reward?

- did they take out the feature where if you queue with a tank/healer and they leave right after you join, you are kicked along with them? Or is that in heroic randoms only? I half-wish they did this with LFR. Tanks mostly just leave right away.

so now that most have probably unlocked the thunderforge area, how exactly does that work if you have a BS? Was it simply a location where they get access to do their thing? Can they upgrade regular gear to thunderforged? Mats?

Lots of interesting changes today, with the highlights below:

Experience needed to increase from level 85 to level 90 has been reduced by 33% (How it will work)
Reduced the number of Lesser Charms of Good Fortune needed for the Mogu Runes of Fate weekly quest to 50, down from 90.
Shado-Pan Assault belts now require Friendly reputation to purchase, down from Revered.
Shado-Pan Assault chest pieces now require Honored reputation to purchase, down from Revered.
