It's been a while since I played (Level 70 NE Druid, Feral).

Normally you could have X level Armor more than just your body. So can you pay to totally buy all the pieces for a decent armor set or is just this talents?

I am going by this:

EDIT: just went and read myself everything. You get a full set of greens for $60. That's not a bad deal along with the other stuff. Sad thing is you are still competing with dudes spending $1k or more for items/gold from China.

As others have said, the $60 gives you a boost to your professions (if over 60), 310% flying speed and level 90, in addition to the greens. The gear doesn't matter - easily replaced through Timeless chests or heroics. Don't get hung up on the gear, it means nothing.

gold also buys you nothing, last i looked cause i was joking about it with a cpl people. 1000$ gets you roughly 1 million gold,

1 million gold does not really give you any advantage in the game. sure you coudl buy gold and then buy heroic SSO kills which average something like 20k per boss but you are not gaurenteed loot

Only thing gold is good for if you have obscene amounts is to buy the rare crap off the auction house.

Current tier gear appears there as well, but you don't have an effective means of getting a set (from any source), so it's irrelevant.

Gold != free gear in wow, no idea where he got that from.

May be considered cosmetic, but it's the only way to get say, the diablo pet unless you want to spend a couple thousand dollars.

it costs over 1k to fully buy it for some.

Eng and Inscription were both well over 1k

my shaman got full timeless stuff as i had every item just sitting in my alt bank, ring trinket and neck included. if i reforged/gemmed pure hit he would get to the cap.

I had tailoring/enchanting and I think it was ~1300g to train all available recipes for both. I'm assuming blacksmithing and/or JCing are probably going to be more.

With timeless gear the hit cap should be no problem, I'm just not sure you could get there with the only the greens. I think my lock was at ~8-9% only with the free greens. Fortunately, I had at least 1 piece of I think every slot except rings. I'm at 15.33% hit because askmrrobot sees the greens as ilvl 450 instead of ilvl 483 for some reason. Probably won't fix it until I get some gear upgrades.

idk what to do about the free 90. I want to preorder the x-pac, but I've really got no character to use it on.

I have every class except monk/warrior at 80+ and those two alts are specifically for when I want to just putz around with leveling.

I suppose I could pick a server with a heavy horde pop and create a 90 of a class I've already got on Alliance... at least there wouldn't be a learning curve for the class.

If you have any interest in random battlegrounds whatsoever, this is what I would recommend. As long as you blacklist AV and IoC, the other BGs are so much more fun horde-side because you can actually win. Even with the 10-12 minute BG queues, it's significantly faster to grind out honor gear on horde toons.

I had all alliance characters until the free 80 with Scroll of Resurrection when that was offered. Using that, I made a Tauren paladin that I've done a paid transfer on once and a free character migration again. I also transferred/faction changed my alliance rogue to that server since I like to do random BGs on that. With the free 90, I boosted an orc warlock from 60. Now I have 10 alliance 90s (missing the rogue I transferred off) and 90 rogue/paladin/warlock for horde. Since my alliance server is dead, and I can do any role with the horde characters I have, I'm probably going to be playing only horde next xpac.

so on this level 90 stuff, people are still raging on either side, TBh im somewhat curious as to why they didt just give everyone the option to start at 55 like DKs,

The boost comes whenever you buy the expansion, just able to get it now if you preorder a digital edition from blizz.

honestly im not sure what the big deal is with no flying to max level, its been like that in wrath and panda land

delaying it to the 6.1 patch may be a bit much but honestly i dont really have any opinion on it

You could fly in Wrath for leveling purposes.

I think the no flying mechanic will only exist in the new areas. IE you won't be able to buy cold weather type upgrades to flying until 6.1.

That wouldn't impact leveling one bit.

edit: I meant pre 90 leveling.

You could fly in Wrath for leveling purposes.

Originally, you couldn't get cold-weather flying until 77. So your first time through Northrend, a good bit of your leveling was without flying.

Is it inconvenient? Really just depends on the zones. I don't think it's a bad thing, but I do wish they made it so your riding skills (or the more advanced ones) carried over between characters.

I'm alright with no flying. Just increase ground mount speed by 50%


Honestly I take the fps all the time anyway. All it would do to me is slow down farming ore

I did the same. I'd lap Swamp of sorrows through blasted lands for a bunch of mithril and thorium veins along with herbing for money needed for fast flying. i was able to pull it off in a weekend.
