Is there a good guide for Ashran PVP? I'm completely confused walking in. I randomly looted a player and got gear ?!

once a follower reaches level 100, is there any benefit on sending them out on a mission that only includes bonus XP as the reward?

the funny result of switching from my 95 shaman to my paladin is that I'm still logging in every couple hours to do missions and now all my shaman's followers are level 98-99.

They eventually become of epic quality through experience

yep, at 100 your green followers will eventually become blue, blue eventually becomes purple, and purps get fat dumb and happy.

Hit 100 last night and tried as hpriest to immediately jumping into a guild group for normals. Apparently, you have to complete the silver proving grounds even for normals -- I thought it was supposed to be just for heroics?

Did the PG, then ran two dungeons. The first was Shadowmoon Burial Grounds, the 2nd was The Everbloom. For SBG, it wasn't too bad overall except for I think the first boss? There was quite a bit of AoE healing needed. For Everbloom, we had two wipes -- one on some trash when we somehow ended up with 3 groups that had disorients, freezes, and I believe silences. Then we wiped on the boss b/c dps weren't jumping over the fire rings. Aside from that, it went rather smoothly. I suppose it helped that the tank took his time and wasn't chain pulling like crazy.

Healing feels relatively weak, even as holy I had trouble in a few spots keeping people up. I used Guardian Spirit multiple times on trash. I was only at level 596 or 598 or something when I went in, so hopefully it gets better with a little more gear.

Also, not a fan of the reverted change to need/greed in randoms. I was looking forward to not having spirit gear ninja'd by warlocks and mages who just see and take the higher ilvl. I guess there's always a super-slim chance that they revert their reversion??

Did a little more questing in Nagrand this morning as shadow ... with the level 100 talent clarity of power, mobs seem to be dying faster, but I'm not really a fan of the rotation. It might be due to my glyph that increases the MB cooldown in exchange for more shadow orbs -- I'll have to change it and see how it goes, otherwise I'll probably end up swapping to Auspicious Spirits in raids.

nothing special really, I did dungeons but no more than 10, I had like 2 days of rested XP because I couldn't login until Sunday so that helped. I did a lot of those bonus objectives in the zones I was in as well

also Mal'ganis is like 99% horde, ive see 1 single alliance since WoD went live. but I did take that mounted combat thing

So I got the handynotes mod with the draenor treasure pack (highly recommend this), and started running around getting resources/killing rares and realized I didn't complete goregond or talador nearly as much as I thought.

Are you having problems finding some of the chests? I spent a while this morning trying to track some of them down in Nagrand and I absolutely cannot find some of them.

finally played last night for the first time. I'm 90 and a half. Just did the runaround with Khadgar and got to Frostfire.

This ... this is a good expansion. I can tell already.

ps. I am pretty sure I am not going to do a damn thing when it comes to professions. I've never enjoyed them... ever, they add very little to the game (to me) and with garrisons I feel like they are more irrelevant than ever before. I could be wrong about that, but it doesn't change my opinion that professions are boring.

I wouldn't mind a return to the day when a PUG couldn't just brute force their way through Heroics. Some actual tactics being required would be cool. When I sap or sheep something, don't break it! I can't remember the last time CC was actually required.

Ran 2 heroics last night with 3 guildies, one as triple dps, one as 2 dps+heal. We pretty much brute forced them, no CC AoE fest and did fine. Had to pay attention to a couple of the mobs (healers, cone AoE, etc), but nothing too hard. Pulled 2 packs a couple times and didn't wipe.

We don't outgear the instances, so... Yeah... This is quickly going to turn speed runs once everyone knows all the boss mechanics. Hell, some of the fights were completely new to me (hadn't seen on normal) and we figured them out on the fly w/o explanation.

Not with that mod. It tells you right where they are, and removes them from the map once you loot them. It doesn't know your history before you installed it, so install it ASAP. It's two different mods handynotes and draenor treasure pack.

edit: if you can't find one, just move on. You likely already got it, but they are hidden, sometimes very well.

Yeah ... I installed it before I got to Nagrand, and I know it won't know my previous history in other zones, but even in Nagrand there are some adventurer packs or treasure chest things with garrison resources that I can't find. I've been trying to clear all of them when I'm questing in the area, but my map is still super cluttered because of the ones I haven't found.

I agree with xonim, there are some in negrand that are seemingly not there at all

I know some in other zones were in trees and such but there is no way to get UP in some of the places in negrand

also how do you get the one on the tower in the ring of trials place?

haven't hit nagrand yet so can't say.

I will put out a fyi, there are ~5 in the spires that award only rested xp boost, best to get those before you hit 100 otherwise they don't provide anything.

and I'm still not sure what they're doing with garrisons. they've limited the rate of building it by throttling your resource income, you can farm all you want but you can't make the game process them faster. and while you're saving up those resources, you're leveling up causing the garrison missions to be for higher follower levels, so either you waste resources trying to keep up or once you get your garrison built up you'll be stuck waiting for an increasing smaller amount of low level missions to cycle through.

also they kept saying other than the initial establishing of the garrison, it was all voluntary part of the game, but the way they have most professions hooked into it that's not exactly true. then again professions seem kinda borked now anyway.

Have a rare mission for my followers that awards one of the "reroll all stats for a follower" items. I have a couple I wouldn't mind using it on, but it's a level 100 mission and I only have one level 100 follower ... and it's a green/uncommon one. I think I'll be waiting a bit!

Sent out guys this morning before work on a 10 hour mission that would award 100 GR's. It's got a whopping 23% chance of success ... but I could surely use the GR's to get upgrade to level 3 tonight!

You can send your followers on a mission that they'll probably fail but they will still get the XP for it.

You can skip the profession ones and do the scalp yard and stuff.

I'm sure the VC forum people recommended this, but if not, try increasing the voltage on your VC ever so slightly -- even if you haven't OC'd the card. Right after I got my 7950, I was experiencing hard locks in WoW and Crysis 3 when every other game and benchmark program ran fine. WoW's crashes were mostly random, but with Crysis 3, it was a specific part of a level that caused a crash every time. Fortunately there was a checkpoint about 10 seconds before the crashes, so it really helped with troubleshooting.

After trying several things (including re-installs of both games), I bumped the voltage to my VC a tiny bit and the crashes stopped. Haven't had a crash since.

Crossing my fingers but I think this might have done it. I'll let you know after testing this weekend.

I dunno, I kind of like that they're somewhat gated -- simply for the fact that you don't feel obligated to spend your first hours at 100 doing nothing but killing rares and looting chests for garrison resources. I have been, but I really like seeing the progress and unlocking more cool stuff -- and I'm sure there are people that hate every second of it. Right now, garrisons are pretty much optional at 100 -- you don't really have to do anything with them if you don't want to. It helps, but it's not required.

For some reason it seems they're hellbent on not having professions provide any sort of benefit (other than a few days head start) to the people with them. I don't understand it either.

I made ~20k in the last week selling ores and herbs I found while leveling, but most of that was last weekend. It's dropped off significantly over the past day or two, to the point where I've considered dropping mining for tailoring just so I can buy out all the cheap windwool to make the 28 slot bags from last xpac.

It seems scribes are making a boatload off Darkmoon cards, and that should last (although probably at 50-60% of current prices) through the end of this coming raid tier. Enchanters are just screwed except for the good weapon enchants, which might be prohibitively expensive for non-progression raiders for a while. I have no idea on blacksmiths/tailors/leatherworkers other than BoE epics, which will be useless after this tier also. In the long run, I think alchemy and JC'ing are going to be the best money with the way things are currently.

saw a post that clarified assigning a follower to a profession building. at follower level 100 it's a 100% chance of additional resource, at 90 it's 50%. assuming it's a linear progression between the two points.

Seems to be an output guarantee for herbalism (and likely mining). I have a level 95 follower assigned to my herb plot, and every work order is returning 7 herbs instead of 5.

EDIT: Just noticed actual visible feedback on the loot systems and it's overwhelmingly in favor of personal loot instead of need/greed. The thread about it on the US forums is now 109 pages long. No way they change it back again, right? I'm convinced they were just seeing people gear up too quickly and wanted to extend the amount of time tanks/healers needed to spend in heroics.

I upgraded my garrison to level 3 last night, and that gave me a chance to finally get the Enchanter's Study to DE some items. While I knew you couldn't disenchant epics, what I never saw anyone say is that it's still not as good as an actual Enchanter's disenchant. Regardless of the ilevel of the green, you usually only get a single dust from it. If you're lucky, you might just get two dusts. Blues will offer between 3-6 small shards. I ended up selling anything worth about 20g or more because I just didn't think the worth of the resulting mats was nearly good enough. I was originally a bit enthused about getting to DE the worthless drops, but honestly... I think I might switch to something like the Salvage Yard.

I kinda hope they do. Spending about an hour with a few wipes in a normal dungeon to see the last boss drop 2 cloth pieces last night was kind of frustrating.

Yeah that's a lot less than what I get DEing stuff normally. Dust is going for a ton on my server. 20g per dust. Shards are cheap.

They didn't have a good feel for the income:cost and are adding ways to get resources. The first random heroic dungeon will now grant 50 resources.

It's one thing to make decisions; this building or that, but people are having to make different ones; followers or buildings. They didn't want the latter to affect you so much.
