I run a 6700K @ 4.5 and a 980TI OC

3440x1440 - if I turn off wows FPS limiter I sit at 150+ FPS everywhere but the garrison where it may push 100 is im lucky

I play in windowed fullscreen mode

I'm running my game windowed at 1080p on a stock i7-4770k and R9 290. I've got my character flying in the center fountain of a level 3 alliance garrison looking at the main gate.

With the graphics slider to 10 and everything set to max including AA @ SSAA 4x + CMAA I get about 27 fps.

If I bump SSAA 4x + CMAA down to MSAA 8x it jumps to 38.

MSAA 8x to none jumps to 40.

Ultra high shadows to low jumps to 48.

View distance from 10 to 1 brings me to 62 fps.


TL;DR: The three settings with big FPS impacts for me are Anti-Aliasing, Shadows, View Distance. Try bumping those down and see what happens.

Blizzard needs to implement vulcan support, I'm pretty sure the graphic engine is mostly limited to a single thread.

Resolution more so than others, i believe. Increasing it will tax GPU more and prevent it waiting on the CPU so much. Or just lower the settings SithSolo1 mentions and you'll probably see a big difference.

I have an i5 2500k/R9 280 and see usually less than 60 in the garrison.

Took a long break after WoD just had nothing more to offer.

Decided to start playing again with the invasion content starting this week. Boy am I lost. I've watched a few videos on the new talents but have no idea what I should do with any on my level 100s. I've got a DK, Hunter and Rogue.

I'm a very casual player, play solo quite a bit (guess no one likes me) so BM hunter was always good for leveling but I started to look at MM. I guess with the ease at which you can switch talents/specialties I should do both.

For DK, is there a better leveling and solo spec right now? I was frost in WoD.

Rogue I haven't even logged into yet but I know there's been some changes there as well. Need to watch some videos I suppose but any guidance would be great.

I've been playing my DH a lot on Beta, and I can say that I'll continue to do so once they hit live. I REALLY like the dps DH mobility and playstyle.

I know some folks say it's too easy and doesn't require much thought, but I'm ok with that.

I've leveled my hunter to 102, my ret pallie to 104, and I've gotten the artifacts on all my toons (DH, MM hunter, ret pallie, dps monk, combat [or whatever they're called now] rogue, fury warrior, frost mage, enhancement shaman) except the shadow priest. Shadow's healing blows now and the quest for the shadow weapon was too much of a PITA.
I may swap to disc to see if that side is easier.

unless you want the physical Collector's Edition stuff, there's no real reason not to buy digital... for existing players, all the Legion content is already installed and downloaded, so the expansion release is just flipping a switch.

I pre-ordered the physical standard edition, but that's just because I put the boxes on display. Had I ordered the CE's from the start, I'd order those. But since I only really got into the game at WotLK, I saved a bunch by going standard route

I got mine from Amazon when it was on sale a week ago. Supposed to arrive on the 29th but if it's a day or two late no big deal. I'm not one of those people who needs to play immediately on release.

I haven't played since I think Feb of this year and just used a 30 day token to get back in and see the pre-expansion invasion content.

should be a quest in your logs as soon as you sign onto any level 98+ (or is it 100 only?) character

Yep, had it show up in the big things to do as soon as you log in, then a quest window popped up for you to accept. Then I had some type of box show up that may have been some type of video window but an add on may have conflicted with it working correctly.

After doing it three times on the Beta, I was glad when they offered the "Skip this crap and go straight to Dalaran" option at the guy in the harbor.

The beginning quest and the invasion was fun the first time but on multiple characters it's getting to be really tedious and boring. It's Tanaan dailies part 2, IMO.

I'm enjoying the free ilevel 700 gear for my DH that I can get from doing the invasions...

The 2nd warglaive should be in hand today after I run my hunter through some invasions (the glaives are BoA).

Yep..700 chest and 700 gloves on my first invasion. Took about 10 minutes of my lunch. Should be easy to get all the alts some decent gear before launch.

Second rare drop mount in ten years of playing, just got atumens reins from kara last week.

Wondering if drops have been tweaked...

Although I haven't tried it this week, I have been trying to get the ony mount for I dont know how long. I kill her with every toon I have that can solo her each week and so far...nothing.
