I took off work too... what's your point? I highly doubt I will hit 80 by Sunday (but of course I'm also making a Death Knight first). Although I should add that I doubt I'll be hindering my usual plans (with friends) for a game... I'm not that obsessive nor glued to a computer (which if you knew me, anyone that does it would be pretty sad to be considered "worse" than I am).

If the scaling of XP in Wrath is anything like it was in TBC, each fullclear of a decent-sized instance should be worth ~15% or more of a level.

Instances are such a different beast in WotLK... it's just that they're not long at all. Like in ummm I think it's Azjol'Nerub, there are 7 trash mob pulls from the beginning to the last boss. I think you spend more time walking around trying to get to Anub'arak than you do actually fighting mobs (you gotta drop into these pools of water twice and do these long walk arounds... it's annoying).

If you really want an instance to use for experience, I'd say The Nexus is your best choice. Lots of easy, easy trash and four bosses (Utgarde only has three... well one boss is two bosses at the same time).

I like short instances as well.

I mean, I did play for 2 hrs last night, but in that time we ran Arcatraz and Heroic Mechanar, with a good 20 min break in between the runs.

I'd like to run Botanica tonight (heroic if it's the daily), so I can get the other piece of the arcatraz key.

my point is that people have the time to do it and will play damn near 24/7 to do it

also you are a special case you have like 12 chars and dual box, if you were dedicated to lvling 1 char to 80 you could do it by sunday

Short instances are nice, but they seem very insignificant when you actually do them. There's only three bosses with maybe a loot table of 3 items on each... it's like an instanced group quest (if you have the quests).

All you lose is mob kill exp from leveling two characters at once, which can be a larger portion of your exp (if you're rested), but sometimes things are easier. I'm looking to level the Death Knight with the (Resto) Druid, but the only downside to this is... while leveling, I think I only had maybe one or two quests that I simply couldn't do by myself and that doesn't tailor as well when you compare it to my warrior who can't do that kind of stuff without my priest with him.

I do think the only way to hit 80 by Sunday is having an epic flying mount... without it, you will waste a lot of time. Also, smart people will avoid binding their hearth to Dalaran. When doing quick leveling, you always bind to the closest point. Also knowing to avoid certain daily quests is helpful too. Like the one bombing quest at Fort umm I think it's Wildevare in Howling Fjord. I'd avoid that like the plague. It takes forever just to go around and if you're not grouped but others are doing it, it could take at least two trips. There are some easy Kalu'ak dailies though. Like getting the supplies in Borean Tundra or getting the pups in Dragonblight. Heck, even helping the walrus things mate in Howling Fjord is easy (or is much easier as a Death Knight with Path of Frost ).

One thing I need to figure out is which account to put my Death Knight on. I think the best solution might be to put him on my Healer account, which sounds kind of weird, but reason being is that I could play my Death Knight and my Warrior at the same time (which sounds kind of worthless), but fact of the matter is, you need an engineering item for one of the quests in Borean Tundra... so I'd have to get 375 engineering (I'm 373) and then make the item. So I'd need to train Mining and Engineering, then go get the Cobalt necessary (which I know some good spots from doing this on beta). But, if my Death Knight is on my dps account, he'd be on the same account as my warrior so I'd have to interrupt the DK's time. But, if the DK is on my healer account, he can't play with my Druid (who is on my healer account). Although, if he's on that account, he can still play with my priest (who has his own account so he can enchant stuff easier). So maybe I'll have to switch it from Death Knight+Druid to Death Knight+Priest and Warrior+Druid.

they way they did it was have 1 person tag the mobs and then have like an entire raid of people DPS them down, so that the 1 dude got all the EXP for it. the person was a mage and just AOE tagged things and the raid zerged everything down

I still feel kinda dirty playing on the alliance.. since 3 months after launch I was on the horde, so this alliance stuff is still very new to me. Sometimes I see a human or dwarf and think "KILL KILL KILL" ...and then I realize we're on the same side. On the other hand, I was so sick of doing the horde starting zones. I really liked the BE zone, but I couldn't stand to play one.
