I'll be staying aff since I've been that way from start of the game. My lock other spec will be demo based for pvp; not sure how soon I'll get it though as I only have 25k in the bank and only purchased 1 nonepic flight mount so far.





As SWG goes, I was on the beta for it. I laughed when they said the game was being officially released. It was probably great if you wanted a big sandbox. To play in with the SW theme, but as far as content, which to me would be the games purpose, it was severely lacking.

LOL, my priest alt w/ heirloom shoulders, weapon, and trinket is halfway to 57. This change comes right in time, I tell you!

Those items really were bad. At 56 they're each giving like 5-6 bonus spellpower.

Definate understatment. The original game really never got out of beta.

There was content, but it was player-generated. Typical sandbox MMO, which should have been obvious given Koster's pedigree. No hold-your-hands and quest / raid / etc like we have in WoW. If you had the time to put into the community SWG kept you busy.

Yeah I don't plan to ever have it. I'm staying affliction for now, but if I do switch to a hybrid destro spec I won't have replenishment.

and for 0/41/30 and 0/40/31 they are nearly the same, one has a big dumb pet and 1 has big conflaag crits

if you are bad at pet management 0/40/31 will prob be better

Ah yeah... completely forgot about that . So in other words, now it's a fairly lame talent that we're forced to get rather than a modest DPS increase.

I might try that 0/41/30 on my warlock, but I'm a little unsure of the actual build itself... I made one ( http://ptr.wowhead.com/?talent=IZbG0hkAdiosxzZVbhVrkuV ) but should I push to max out Molten Core? I was having some issues with free points when I got down that far and I was a bit unsure of the best place to put points. I also had a similar issue in destruction after the first 15 points.

Ahh I was ignoring Decimate... that's an interesting talent... almost like their version of the Execute range. That looks interesting... I might try it out . I assume the rotation is something like Corr, CoA, Immol, Confl spam until you need to put up Corr and CoA and also be wary of decimate procs.

As for glyphs, I assume Glyph of Incinerate is a must. I know you were talking about life tap earlier... is that still viable? Also, would you prefer the CoA glyph to give more time in between having to refresh it?

LT is a better glyph then Incin, you are basicially gonna be LTing every 20s other 2 are conflag and immo for 0/40/31 replace conflag with felguard for 0/41/30

Aff uses LT, Haunt and COA

untill you get the LT glyph use incin

0/41/30 is probably better for pvp but all around 0/40/31 is more fun because of conflag. Like Anubis said, if you suck at pet management, go either 0/40/31 or a deep destro build because pets die a lot in Ulduar if you cant keep track of them. As far as Aff goes, its not great in some fights because it doesnt scale well with crits or increased damage abilities, mainly because refreshing corr wont increase its damage when you keep reapplying haunt (you have to let corr drop ie drop haunt).

I say better loosely because conflag is a very nice chunk of damage when pared with other abilities. But then again Felguard is a best in pvp against non plate.

They just updated and realm restarts pushed back two hours from 2 to 4pm.






All classes will have their talents reset when the upcoming patch 3.1, Secrets of Ulduar, launches and the dual talent specialization feature will be available for purchase. We will not be wiping glyphs with this patch though. If you purchase this additional talent spec, the glyphs you had equipped before the patch will be the glyphs that are part of your primary spec and your secondary spec will have no glyphs. So if you purchase dual specializations, this is a reminder to make sure the talents you select in your primary spec match up with the glyphs you have there to avoid any mix up between the talent trees and their appropriate glyphs

I figured they would do that on a big patch day, they always do. They got a ton of stuff to fix. Expect many hotfixes, restarts, and mini patches in the weeks to come.

Hard modes are the only ones that provide achievements, but I think people will still be all about normal mode. I wonder how easy it will be to get that "He Feeds On Your Tears" achievement for Algalon.

Everyone needs to do easy mode first for wowprogress otherwise their place could be disputed, now I know easy modes aren't that much, but world first hard modes wont happen for a few weeks until people get full sets of gear. Even on ptr and a stacked raid group and the shirts on, we couldn't do Hodir's hard mode, 32 million in 3 minutes is a cock block. Let alone Algalon who's going to need at least a weeks worth of Ulduar gear to kill. Iron Council hard mode is extremely hard even with a geared tank... he'll get hit by a 35k hit and 25k hit.
