The armory and the inspect features actually do not bother me much. I appreciate them more than it bothers me. However, I really do wish I could block Recount somehow. I feel I should have that choice.

Inspect and armory are two of the biggest drivers of e-peen in the game. Blizzard will never allow you to opt out of them, because e-peen keeps people playing.
For example, I'm supposed to be ashamed that my level 71 warlock still has netherweave bracers, and start jumping through hoops to replace them. There are a few more quest reward greens on me that I'm supposed to replace with blues, but then purple becomes the new blue and I'm ashamed of some other piece of my gear.

Recount doesn't bother me - I actually rather like it. I use it to tune what I'm doing and make sure I'm pulling my weight. I'm not really critical of others unless they're doing vastly less than everyone else - a mage two levels above me doing 35% of my damage, for example.

I am not a DPS class so it works different. Healing classes and their efficiency is not based on raw numbers even though many do get obsessed with the healing charts. The way I see it is that we each have a job to do as healers and if the result of our work is a successful encounter then it doesn't matter if you are on the top or the bottom of the healing charts.
What pisses me off is that there are always those one or two people in any guild including my own which obsess over the shit and they love using it as a finger pointing mod more than anything. They criticize certain actions based on the info that Recount provides when the truth is that they have no idea why I might have chosen to do something like allow the LB stack to bloom as I take care of something else for a few seconds which actually ends up saving the attempt even though it is not directly apparent. In other cases, people including myself just simply make mistakes and would rather not hear about it unless it is something which is happening on a regular basis that I am unaware of.
With that said, Recount in itself is not a problem any more than a gun is a problem. The people who use it and how they use it can be a problem and I just wish I could diffuse that problem.

I'm >constantly< tabbing out to Wowhead. Last time I had dual monitors, I recall not liking it for some reason... probably tab time or something, but it's been a very long while. I should try that out again. Do you run WoW in windowed mode on dual monitor setups?
i run Dual mons, run wow in windowed mode maxed to 1 mon, not tabbing required, just move the mouse back and forth

Lightheaded sounds like an addon you need to DL. It adds a pane to your quest log and pulls up all Wowhead comments in that pane. It's very nice.

Patch 3.4 will, most likely, contain the Icecrown raid, and that will have brought us full circle on Wrath of the Lich King and prepare us for the next expansion. Sunwell Plateau was in 2.4, so it makes sense.
