? Mimiron should no longer continue to cast Heat Wave after phase 2 is completed.

? Mana Burn has been reduced to 10% mana burned (up to a maximum of 20% of the Priests mana), down from 13% (max 26%).

Rogue
? Blind (Rogue) is now in the same diminishing returns category as Fear effects, but no longer shares diminishing returns with Cyclone (Druid).

Warlock
? The Warlock ability Death Coil now heals you for 300% of the damage done, up from 100%.
? The Warlock ability Nether Protection will reduce spell damage by 30% instead of 60%.

How do you figure that? It's been done before and we got pretty close last night.

PS our guild is recruiting as well. We'll take anyone competent but are in need of a tank in particular. We are alliance and raid from 7 pm to 11 pm sunday through thursday.

Also, do you think hard mode kills should still count when there have been significant changes to said encounter? I know they decided to keep them on MMOC, but I think that's not correct to do. I mean, how many guilds differentiate between Sunwell clears and Sunwell pre-3.0 clears? If the changes weren't very significant, then it wouldn't be a big deal, but it seems Blizzard said, "too easy," and hit it with the buff bat.

first WSG game -- 20 minutes, 1 alliance flag return
second WSG game -- 36 minutes, 2 alliance flag returns (by the same fucking person)

this is ridiculous. I don't get how it's even possible with horde actively trying to win unless you form a premade.

WSG is serious business. I suspect if the playerbase complains enough - they'll probably change it to optional. It is really a ridiculous requirement [reminds me of the pvp quest in Icecrown - how the frak do you get 20 kills on a pve server??]

Just stopped by the wow forums. About 3/4 of the first page full of complaint post, mostly about achievement related stuff. Seems a couple of the kids week things involves pvp and not many having fun with it.

Ha. I did a WSG last night, and each side had a representative that got the flag, then dropped it, let them return it, repeat. Everyone in that bg got their credit.

Only a single one does, but it requires about six things in different BGs like returning a flag (WSG), capturing a tower, assaulting a base, capturing a flag (EotS), etc.

You also have to make sure to start it quickly, because the daily chores achievement requires you to do a daily each day for 5 days.

So we killed Hodir today on hard-mode. Up until this point and as stated in my blog we considered this boss completely impossible. It's not well tuned like Freya or Mimiron, luck is by far the biggest factor in this encounter and you need it in spades. We bashed about 15 hours into trying to do it when he was first changed to 2 minutes. We tried 8 Mages, we tried mass Death Knights, just about every possible comp you could think of.

So we didn't get that close, probably about 2:15 min if we had gone through with the kill (luckiest try ever). We did all the maths and worked out that this fight is 99% impossible (maybe perfect luck and 18 mages). I seriously doubt it's possible even with full Ulduar Gear. You need an average of over 12k dps on each raid member, and that is with 1 tank and 2 healers (not really doable because of dispelling requirements). So we decided after some thought to use Flower Power. I guess you could say it's like using a World Buff, but it's a pretty retarded strategy. Essentially you end up with 5 mages doing 250% more damage. With this we made it with literally 0.03 seconds left.

So a ridiculous strategy for the most ridiculous fight in the game. I'm not saying it's easy to do it this way because it really isn't. It is however the ONLY way to kill him at this point. We are not going to be screwed over by Blizzard trying to block Algalon 25 man when other guilds have already completed it, so we did what we had to.

We sincerely hope that Blizzard decides to correct this boss and the Flower Power. We will not use it for any other boss, but this fight just goes completely against everything Blizzard has said they want to make raiding. I've mailed Blizzard to this effect and we sincerely hope they fix both Hodir and Flower Power.

This is not a World First, it has no meaning at all. However we are not going to sit here and get screwed over by Blizzard. We may however release a video of a Mage doing 40k dps if people are interested.

Nope, dead serious. A dwarf paladin would run into our base, grab the flag, and then not go anywhere and just let us return it. I got "Not in my house" too. We were doing the same for them.

The PvP achievemnet for Children's Week didn't turn out as bad as I thought it would. Did all of them in about 3 hours with a group of 5, the longest time was spend waiting on 15 min AV queues and more than once people in the group made it to tower caps and forgot to have their orphan out.

AV: I'm 51-0-20 Paladin, Crusader Aura and if I get there at the same time as someone else, I pass them going up the tower because of PoJ. For the rest of the group we just made a mad dash to the second tower and were mostly uncontested, and in one game, 15 alliance were intelligent enough to not kill one horde that kept recapping. Worse case scenario two of our five being paladins, we have two BoPs and two Divine Interventions to assist with insuring our group completes their achievements... It took about 5-6 games, mostly because two that needed it stopped clicking over confusion that one of them didn't have their orphan out, so the other could get it, only to have both lose it and a pug get it.

WSG: Being only 10 man and pug vs pug, our group of 5 pretty much controlled the game and we fended off their authentic non achievement capture attempts with full flag running groups and took turns returning the flag. Then being good sports some of us went into their flag room solo to cap and die so some opposition could get their achievements, but they were being retards. I'd run in bubbled, 1 vs 8, point at their orphan, and they would keep trying to kill me before I grabbed their flag... as if they thought I thought I was seriously after their flag.. We did all our achievements in 1 WSG game.

EotS: Our warrior engineer + rocket boots = guaranteed one per game. Five out of 15 players spam clicking the flag spawn and as a last resort, two paladins with HoP and DI again, tilted the odds in our favor, but only proved necessary because two pug paladins attempted to do it first. Total of 2 games, because one was aborted for a AV pop.

AB: This was easy, took two games total, only because we were taking AV when it popped due to the long queues and instant WSG/EotS/AB. Our 5 man group simply zerged farm, took turns capping, and backing off and letting horde cap again, sometimes doubling up our achievements at blacksmith while leaving farm open. Again took 2 games, because it was interleaved with AV queues.

So 3 hours with 5-6 AVs, 1 WSG, and 2 EotS and AB queues and we were finished. Now I get to do it on my alt, who as my herbalist/miner, and being a lesser geared alt that won't see hard modes any time soon, this is the only way it will have a 310 mount for gathering

As far as I can tell, due to the counter bugs, this was supposedly hotfixed in the middle of the night so that now you just need to do 5 dailies, period. That is, you can do it in one day.

Can't wait to get home and confirm so I can finish the event on both toons tonight and not camp my computer every night this week.
