AT World of Warcraft Thread (WotLK, where do you play, General BS and all that)

I've got mine coming from Amazon tomorrow.
I also have a manditory supervisor meeting scheduled from 9am til 12pm. I'm not worried in the least. Near as I can figure it, I'm probably not going to be able to play it much til next week.

Thursday: Supervisor meeting til noon. Get home and wait for the game to be delivered. Then install and wait for the patches to go thru. Knowing hte problems Blizzard is having with their servers I figure I'll get about an hour of playtime tomorrow night.

Friday: First day of my work week. So I'll get up around 7ish, take care of my baby boy, then hand him off to my mother-in-law around 1pm. Sleep til 5pm and get ready for work starting at 7pm.

Saturday: Get home at 8am. Sleep til 3pm. Get ready for work at 7pm.

Sunday: Get home at 8am. Sleep til 3pm. Have Sunday dinner with the family and in-laws. Then go to work at 7pm

Monday: Come home and take care of my son til 1pm. Hand off to my mother-in-law. Sleep til 3 or 4pm. Wake up and get dinner ready for the family. Hopefully my 3 year old daughter goes to sleep ok along with my 4 month old. Spend some time with the wife. Go to sleep around 11pm.

Tuesday: Wait til the servers come back from the Tuesday patch.

So I figure I won't be playing it straight through til around Tuesday of next week.

I have mines coming in tomorrow too from Amazon. What I'm afraid of is it not being delivered, thus delaying it another day, while I'm at work/school. I've never recalled Amazon ever leaving anything at my door without a signature. Too bad my neighbors won't be home either.

I'm hoping the carrier is USPS.

Which starting area are most of you guys going for? I was in the beta and did my best to avoid doing much of anything for fear of ruining the experince tomorrow. I spent most of my time doing DK stuff and a very small amount of time in the Tundra. I honestly had no idea you could start at another spot (Howling Fjord?) and have this feeling the Fjord will be less populated.

With that in mind, assuming I didn't misread something about a second starting spot, I'll probably park my guys in the wetlands tonight.

Stopped by my local target to pick up the new star wars br disc. Stepped into the 24 hour wallyworld next door and asked them when they would be putting out tommoroows releases. The stock chick working the area already knew the game title when the sales girl started asking the question and also said they had the collector edition tins in too. Thinking about making a 12am jaunt to the store and may even buy a collector ed for the first time. (Not that they've been that hard to come by since the original ed, when I picked up BC on the way home at BB they had a couple dozen collectors along with an entire aisle of the regular)

I started out at howling fjord. But I'm horde. The Zep to the Tundra zone is in Origimmar and the Zep to Fjord is in UC. I'm guessing the Tundra zone will be a slightly more crowded for Horde.

My plan is to head to Circuit City and Best Buy when they open tomorrow morning to get a copy. I've got gift cards to spend.

I'm going to the Howling Fjord first. It's worse for Death Knights, but oh well . Note that I say it's worse, because there's very little good gear as most of the plate gear is haste, which DKs don't care much about. Although the first quest right outside the base for Alliance is annoyin' cause the mobs just run in rather than being sent to specific defenders like they are in Borean Tundra.

Yeah I would expect the Tundra to be flooded by alliance too since it is reached from the inside of Stormwind and the Fjord is from the wetlands. One other reason I want to hit the fjord is because I never went there in beta so it will be completely new to me.

wowwiki normally has them as well as filefront and places like that

there is a torrent on mininova that was clocking 600k/s+ earlier today

Can you buy licenses online and get them same day? Or are you guys just preloading the game in anticipation of buying it so you don't have to install it from dvd?

haha yesterday i made a level 1 priest and picked up a full set of season2 gear. i assume all those items are deleted by now...

anybody have any luck at 7-11? heard on the internet that they "accidentally" released today. SOURCE

I think I have some guild mates that are buying and downloading it off the WoW site. I'd imagine that download will be horribly slow... or in typical Blizzard fashion... just not working at all.

if the torrent is set up correctly it should get faster the more people that are downloading

ive never had an issue DLing patches/games with the blizz downloader and its always run at near line max

I think there used to be a way to drop the torrent into your own client, so you could control it yourself. (Blizzard's connection settings were shite.) Can that still be done?
