AT World of Warcraft Thread (WotLK, where do you play, General BS and all that)

I ordered 2 CEs, one from Wal-mart and one from Amazon. They're both coming in today before 3pm at the same time. I was hoping to be one of those people who would receive it before the 13th and then just sell the other. My plan utterly failed.

Now to play the waiting game.

with the non-combat pet basically being a reskin of every other dragon whelp (and there's already, what, like 6 of them?), I didn't see a real incentive to plunk down the extra money.

all my characters seem to already have a favored non-combat pet anyways (my rogue's been using a tranquil mechanical yeti for years; my warlock uses the phoenix hatchling from MgT, which goes well with T6 armor; and my priest has a silver trueshaft arrow)

Did the Gamestop by anyone else have their credit car system screwed up last night? I went to get the game at midnight and their card scanners weren't working so they tried calling in the numbers and they couldn't get anyone. They tried to tell me Visa was knocked out of commission by so many people trying to buy wotlk at once (total bullshit though I bought gas with my visa card right after I left there). I wanted to do the DK quest so bad last night....Oh well I'm gonna go buy it at lunch today instead.

I wonder how much blizz will make on opening night, they had to have sold well over 2 million copies...with there being 11 million subs.

Me too. Mine isn't even out for delivery yet, and I probably won't have it until 6 or 7pm (UPS delivers late near me).. but I can't stop checking.

Yay, I got a collector's edition from Target. If I knew Circuit City didn't get any at all, I would've just bought my other normal one from Target (Target opens at 8, CC at 10... saving time).

It sounds like Blizz did a damn good job on this release, from what it sounds like, servers are working and nobody is having any issues today.

Having trouble picking an Allliance DK class. Human is the obvious choice however...
Correct me if I'm wrong but with a Gnome, I could use escape artist, and then use my trinket effectively "escaping" twice in a very short period of time. With the human I could only use Every Man For Himself once, and then I'd have to suffer through CC's for 2 minutes. Every Man shares a cooldown with trinket right? PVP is my primary concern in this game, however I do PVE quite a bit. I heard DK's have a problem with getting kited, so I immediately thought gnome.

I mean, other than that Human is better in every other way, passive perception, bonus to swords and maces, and bonus to rep gains...damn...I might have to go Human.

What do you guys think?

The Best Buy 5 minutes from work had plenty of copies. 15 minute trip got my copy, could be a long day at work today.

Very interesting to see the mixed demographics of people buying the game. While I was of course the most handsome man making a WotLK purchase, there were plenty of folks from all over the spectrum with a copy in their hands.

2 of my buddies had planned on not taking off today, but BOTH already by 10 AM have developed mysterious, sudden onset symptoms of barely identifiable afflictions and have gone home. I hope it's not spreading...
