well. its a good guild in the sense the people are fun to talk to and joke around with.
but after last night i really am thinking of joinin another guild. we set up a guild run on 25 man OS. i was MT and we needed a OT. we grab someone from LFG.
the OT did have better gear then i did. he mentioned tha the had more HP and gear so he should be MT. one fo the guild leaders told him that i was MT and he would be great as ot.
well on teh first pull he starts spamming taunts and doing his best to take aggro. i mentioned in Guild chat that we are going to have problems and he is trying to take aggro.
2nd pull he runs off and takes it. i mention to the guild leader what happened. he didnt say anything. then on first drake (we are not able to leave them up yet) he goes and pulls before ANYONE is ready. i continue to ask him to stop and try to get the GL to do anything about it. nope.
Finally in guild chat (on last drake after complaining) i say something like "i don't mind being offtank. But if given the MT job then i expect to do it and if i have someone trying to take the job from me i expect the guild (on a guild run) to back me up." that finally got one of the other members in raid to say something esle in /raid (i had but the GL/RL ignored it).
finally one of the other GL's said something. but it was a little late.
that started a argument in guild. come to find out the other tank was the GL's friend he has been trying to get in guild so didnt want to say anything to him.
People are too rigid in the terminology of a MT/OT. For the vast majority of fights, you have tanks, period, and roles should be assigned according to gear and class.
The first trash pull has 4 mobs. In the random event one tank dies, the other is supposed to pick them up anyway. Trash is trivial, it does not matter really who tanks what. Drakes are essentially trash too; if he grabs it, who cares? Sit tight, wait for the portal/whelps, and enjoy your 30 second breaks.
If he's doing it on Sartharion, that's perhaps another issue, because of the positioning requirements, but trash is trash.
You didn't mention your classes. If he's a warrior/paladin and you're a DK/druid, he did what he should be doing. Why? Because the latter classes have better dps in a tanking spec.
