AT7 and AT7 MAx

I am looking to set up a raid array in my home. While doing some research I came across Abit's AT7 which features 4 raid connectors on-board and three pci slots. I liked it and was going to purchase it until i saw the KT400 AT7 max. The only difference that i see between the two is the reduction of the raid connectors and two more pci ports. Would there be any benefit other than having 400 MHZ FSB to still getting the AT7 instead of the AT7-Max

The only other significant feature of the KT400 chipset is the 8x AGP support. The KT400 chipset has not been proven to have anymore than a 3-4% increase in performance, even when coupled with "DDR400" memory. For that matter, the KT400 is so new that I would think twice about investing in it over the more proven KT333. In the end though, I think it would come down to whether you wanted the two extra raid connectors or the two extra PCI slots.

BTW - the 400 in the KT400 refers to the maximum DDR memory supported, not the FSB. AMD's procs are still (for the time being anyway) stuck at 133MHz. DDR FSB (266MHz. effective).
