alright so i lost almost 20 lbs in the last few months, mainly through restricting calories (1200-1500 a day). for the first time in forever i sat down and ate like 7 slices of pizza. i am feeling sick and guilty. i dont want to gain the weight back. will i be ok and on track if i skip eating for the rest of the day?

OK, I'll answer better.

No, you should definitely eat the rest of the day. Not eating because you binged on one meal is a dumb idea.

Get back to it tomorrow; a single mess-up day isn't going to make you re-gain 20 pounds.

Don't eat for the rest of the day. Intermittent fasting is actually very popular.

I'm pretty sure you won't be hungry for the rest of the day either. You may get bored, or feel your stomach is empty, but just drink a glass of water and go to bed a little earlier.

edit: for a little while I was eating only once a day because I couldn't get my proper macros without cooking, and I was too lazy to separate my cooking into 3 meals. Just ate it all at once. I never got hungry but I was having trouble eating all the food at once. It took me about 1.5 hours to finish eating on workout days with all the extra carbs I needed to eat.

Personally, I'd eat a light dinner. If you are around 1500 calories per day, an extra 250 or so for a light dinner isn't going to kill you.

"Messing up" one day and just destroying all your routine is what will get you; and it is that destroying the routine part that does it.

I'd also evaluate what you're doing on your normal days, if you feel the need to go grab 7 slices of pizza. You can be pretty satisfied while eating reasonably; at least, that is what I've found.

yeah i use that and have it synced with Runtastic. every activity from runtastic gets logged to the MFP diary. pretty cool.

I really dislike MFP because it says lifting weights burns 0 calories... I mean come on, lifting heavy weights is using energy, how can that not be burning calories?

Think of it this way: when you were eating poorly and were 20 lbs heavier, if you ate one healthy, low-cal, low-carb meal, did you expect to suddenly drop 20 lbs?

Yes, why has it not worked yet? I went to the gym once, why have I not instantly lost 20lbs?

Just get the amount from a natural source.

When you go to the toilet you may be

It's ok to binge every once in a while. As you have noted...it has reminded you how much you value your health. Take that lesson and build on it. As long as you are doing stuff right 90% of the time...the other 10% is no big deal. Just be sure that 10% does not have the effect of 50%.
