Ate at Waffle House. Why the South is better.

It's been a longtime since I last ate at Waffle House. Probably like 15+ years. I forgot how good the food was there. Prices were like double of what I remembered but the food was still the same. Simple, greasy, and good. Had the Texas bacon patty melt and it was on point. Good thick bacon and American cheese. And still the best hashbrowns. I don't know why I stopped eating there but I loved that place during my high school and college years. And during road trips, it was always a place I could count on to stop for a cheap meal anytime 24/7.

Back in the 90s I used to go there a lot, WH and Danny's. I still remember their $5 t-bone steak... I was PIGS (Poor Indian Graduate Student) and that was a TREAT! I was in Orlando couple of years back and there was a WH right next to my hotel, don't remember what I had there but it was GOOD! They didn't have t-bone steak iirc... That's one of the good places that this great country of Tejas lacks...

What are you trying to say? Eating at Waffle House makes you fat? Overeating and not exercising makes you fat. You can eat anything you want if you exercise and not overeat.

One of my brother's friends is the guy (meaning went to med school with) who's dad is the founder/owner of Waffle House.

I wish that I had met that dude before my brother died...I also wish that I made up all of that, but absolutely every bit is true.

We have prettier women. That alone makes the South better. Everything else is gravy.

Like any franchise, it's location dependent. Some locations are better than others. If employees care and can cook, the food can be great.

Food in the south. Drove from west to east coast in 1964, just after JFK was shot. Yeah, visited the grassy knoll.

The diners in TX on the main highway. The food and service was great, the price was right and the waitresses were beautiful. The highway wasn't crowded and people drove really fast. They flew in TX. That's my recollection. Only returned to the south last February, 5 days in New Orleans. A different experience.
