It's good to see people are watching the gov't and catching their "mistakes". However, this warrants a closer look IMO. How does a small and specific section get deleted? Doesn't pass the smell test... must have been a rouge individual in Cincinati.

So you actually believe this was just a clerical error on the part of the ATF. After the WH press secretary Josh Earnest defends the proposal to ban this round which just happens to be the most common ammo for the most common rifle in the US. Also after numerous law enforcement agencies state that the round is not a threat....really?

What has this caliber ammo historically cost? I was at walmart recently and saw 720 round cases of 5.56 for $500!!! Who the hell is able to pay $.70 shot on a semi-auto with a large mag at a range? A 30 round mag at that cost would be $20 shot out of your gun in under a minute. What did 5.56 or .223 cost two years ago or five years ago?

Prices may still get back to normal.
The umm..allure of .223/5.56 is that it's the 2nd cheapest to shoot.
At the start of hunting season it was incredibly cheap.

The price at WM is too high. What brand was it?

Right now, even with the jacking up price, I still able to get Lake City ammo (XM855 5.56X45 62GR) in 1000 bulk case for about $600 ship to my house. Link = http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/428/category/53/

Federal 55gr in 90 rds box is about $0.4/round ship.

I think I purchased the .223/5.56 for about $0.35 or less per round last year or so.
