Atheros AR9285 wireless chip in laptop, issues

I have an HP ProBook 4530s (XU015UT#ABA) and it has an Atheros AR9285 chip for the wireless. It works great pretty much everywhere but my school. In one place it works perfect, but outside of this one place at the school... it's on the fritz. I'll get barely any traffic going (talking dial-up speeds) over HTTP but the signal will be great. No one else at my school experiences this issue AT ALL. I'm literally the only one who has this type of issue.

I don't know if it's because the chip is defective or a networking problem. It makes no sense. When I run my hackintosh OS it won't even get HTTP traffic going unless I am at my house, that special campus wifi, or someone's normal wifi. It can ping but nothing else...

Any ideas as to what's causing this? (No one else with the hackintosh experiences this either) I don't know if it's hardware because it obviously works great my place...

Start -> Control Panel -> Network -> Right click wireless -> properties -> dbl click ipv4

Do you have a dns configured?

If not, then try.. go with 8.8.8.8 / 75.75.75.75 will give you google with a rollover of comcast.
