Wow.... That would more than double my throughput from that PC.....
Now, where is my credit card ???

I knew it would be faster, but I did not think that it would be so much faster.

yea, it really depends on your motherboard and memory as to how much of a performance increase you'll see.

my laptop with pc2100 so-dimm and an xp 2200+m gets a little over 4hrs per WU.

You should be able to do pretty good with the 2200+. With my AMD Athlon-Mobile 1788 mhz(thoroughbred-B),512 ram, I can do a WU in just under 4 hours. This is on a laptop.

That seems a little bit on the slow side. My XP1800+ with 512MB of PC2100 runs 3:08 to 4:00 per WU. Rarely am I near the 4 hour mark unless it's a VLAR. No overclocking at all.

Chaintech 7SID-SIS 735 chipset/-/XP 2200+/-/256mb PC2100 Crucial DDR.
Around 3.5 to 3.6 per wu.

What mobo and chipset you have?

I went up 585MHz and it saved about 35min/wu. You'd be going from 1.2 to 1.8GHz (stock speed) and a better cpu so you should see about 45-50 min or so per wu less. If you OC it, you may get an hour less.

I have a 1.3 GHZ Athlon at home that does about 3 a day (7-8 hour work units) and a PC at work that is a AMD 2100 that does about 7 a day. (3-4 hour work units)

my T-Bird 1.33 on SDRAM does like a 5:45 WU, my XP1700+ on DDR does like a 3:45 WU.. DDR makes a good diff. too.

Craig: How did you get your Tbird to run that fast? (It sounds like I have the same processor) What OS are you running? (I am using 2k with 512MB SDRam)

Well... it not the best, but it was cheap...

mobo: Soltek SL-75KAV/-X
Chipset: KT133A
RAM: 2x256MB PQI Powermodule PCI-166MHz

/EDIT/

I was lucky today....

I ordered a 2200+, but it seems they were short of those, and they send me a 2400+ instead... for the same price.....
Now, I just have to find out if I need to unlock it or something in order to OC it. Never had an Athlon XP before...

Hope I can get around to install it this evening, so it can crunc away....
