19" LCD (Viewsonic VX900 or Dell 1901FP) - haven't decided yet... what are my chances of getting a dead pixel?
(I am gonna be sitting in front of it all the time, so might as well get a good one)

all looks well. few suggestions:

invest some extra $$$ and get good quality pc3200
pioneer or liteon will do nicely for the dvd rom, i would just get the cheapest
for the keyboard and mouse i really like the elite duo combo (logitech)
For the PSU make sure its a good brand like antec, enermax, fortron, sprakle, vantec
for the price of a 9600XT you will be better off with a 5900 or spend a littlle more and getting a 9700 pro

nice system, very similar to what I'm ordering this week (except for the HDs). just to throw some stuff out there, I'm going with the Liteon DVD burner because I've never had a problem with one of their optical drives in the past 5 years. It's only $140 so I would get that instead of the CD burner. I have the Klipsch Promedia 2.1, very good little speaker set. I'm putting the new rig in an Antec SX835II and using a 450W PS I bought last year.

There is a good chance that you will get a dead pixel on a 19" lcd, but to be completely honest you really don?t notice them (unless you have two right next to each other). On my Dell 1901 i currently have two. a red one that shows up really good and a blue one that I have to look for to find. The red one is right in the middle of the screen, but unless I?m on a white background (which is a lot of the time :/) I don?t notice it. But other then that I love my monitor. I haven't used the Viewsonic VX900, but it was one of the LCD's i was looking at when i bought. I agree with shady06 spend a little extra on some good memory. Something else to look at is a wireless keyboard and mouse. I bought mine to use with my htpc, but i bought one for my work and gaming pc's also.

I am trying to build a system like that for myself too..., just wondering on the PSU, how can you determine how clean a power coming out of PSU is?

And does anyone have any suggestions to which exactly which RAM to get?

I agree with the previous post on ram, sort of. I would even go good quality PC3500 CAS2. You won't be sorry.
