Athlon 650 K7M, GeForce2 and worse performance than PCI TNT

I think my problem is that I am not running my Creative GeForce2 in AGP
mode simply because I have no idea how to enable any AGP.
I installed NVIDIA 5.30 Detonators and nothing from the Creative
CD's and then threw in VIA 4.23 4in1 and still Final Reality gives me
35M/s Fill Rate (25M/s with FSAA).. somewhat lousy because my TNT PCI used to get 85M/s
and the Voodoo5500 I had gave me 60M/s with 2xFSAA.
In the GeForce advanced display properties I have the option PCI Memory Size
and nothing about AGP...
shouldn't this all be disabled if the card was running in an AGP mode??
I know K7M can only do AGP 2x but I'd like to get at least that instead
of some PCI compliant mode or whatever it's called.
In the BIOS I have set AGP aperture size to 128, primary display
to AGP and Super Bypass enabled... what else should I do?
I had a Voodoo5500 earlier this week but had to dump it because of no
NT 4.0 support and what bothers me is that the Voodoo5500 was faster in
every single game I've tried... Quake3, UT, Nascar2000, Rally Championship 2000 etc...
I thought the GeForce2 would rape that V5500 at least in something
but no... with GeForce2 UT in particular is much slower in D3D than with the V5500
and the GeForce2 is actually giving me 15fps frame rate in Facing Worlds 1280x1024
and with my TNT I got 15fps average at 1024x768 with the same settings as now with
the GeForce2.
This all doesn't sound right... please help.

Try installing the new via 4 in 1 drivers, but not the agp miniport section of them, and get the amd miniport drivers from the amd web site and install them.. That should give you a boost in performance.

That really did some...
Q3A Quaver got 22.6 fps higher score with AMD miniport.
UT got only 3-4fps better in Facing Worlds 1280x1024x16 when I am at the highest sniper balcony
looking down at the mayhem caused by 15 bots but is still totally unplayable in 1280x1024x32
(without FSAA 6.7fps average!!).

Also it seems to make no difference whether I'm running AGP 1x or 2x or actually there is
a difference but it's not speed related... some games just seem to hang when in 2x mode. wtf?
