Hi,
I've just bought an Athlon XP 1800 and a Taisol Cooler to use with it. I know the cooler is only just up to the job which is why I also got some Artic Silver II to use with it. However after looking at the heatsink I see its got a little strip to be used as the conductive material. Should I just use that in the end? I take it if I chose to use the artic silver i would need to remove it.
The main worry I have is that if I put too much Artic Silver on it will overspill and short out the Athlon or something. Any advice in this area would be greatly apreciated. I do not intend to overclock the CPU btw.
Thanks.
