Rec'd mine yesterday, a day late because no one home to sign for it on Wed. It is an "AROIA" stepping. Will install it this evening. Don't expect there is a lot of headroom to OC this thing but not really that important to me anymore.
Suppose I am getting a little jaded but I find many of these posts about hoping to bump up one or two speeds amusing. CPU speed is so cheap that if you need that extra "oomph" (for whatever), buy it and save yourself the time, hassle and risk of unlocking. Besides, the CPU is rarely ever the bottle neck any more...it's your vid card and hard drive.
OC'g was a whole different story when you could take a sub $80 celeron, increase the FSB by 50% and rival Pentium performance costing $200-$300 more. The improvement in gaming performance was readily apparent in actual use. Now, with frame rates in the 100+ range at high resolutions, due primarily to improvements in video cards, the supersonic CPU speed is becoming less important. If you go back and reread the better hardware reviews that include CPU scaling, you will see what I mean. Here's something to think about, few monitors have refresh rates fast enough to keep up with the frame rates the CPU/vid card can deliver.
Apologize for going so far OT...what I really wanted to say was thanks for initial post making us all aware of a truly nice deal.
