athlon xp 2100+ discontinued??

i called my local computer store and asked if they had any, and they said they were discontinued.. is this true? this sounds really dumb if it is...

NewEgg has them for a lot less than at a retail computer store, and they're not discontinued.
Matter of fact - the Paliminos have been replaced with Thorobreds - a newer process.

Canadian store... www.techtronics.ca have a look there. really cheap prices...and they have the cpu's...I bought a 1700b there for 79 bucks.
