I hope so. Also, I have the 650watt model with the single 12v rail. I read in a review they got it up to 780watts before it shutdown, so it should be high quality. I only have 3 fans, 1 HDD, and a Burner. I checked the eXtreme PSU calculator online and it says 505watts / 77% with 2 4870. I expect the 4870x2 should take less power than 2 seperate cards. Even if I add another HDD it would only be 529watts / 81% which should be fine also. Your right it's really close, but I think it should be alright as long as I don't add more fans and stuff. Granted I have enough stuff not going in this pc, but this machine I'm keeping light.Originally posted by: MichaelD

2x 4870 only recommends 600watt so the 4870x2 should be the same or less. It should run fine on my Corsair 650 ( 52A 12v ) powersupply. Can't wait for the release.Originally posted by: Compddd
Would a 625W PSU be enough for a 4870X2?
Are you sure about it running fine on your HX620? Your motherboard, hard drives, fans, USB devices all use electricity too. We have the same PS and it's excellent, but I don't think it would be a good idea to run a 4870X2 or 4870 Xfire on it. If it did "run fine" you'd probably be right at the PS's limit.
With the rig in my sig, I most definitely cannot run a 4870X2. I'd have to make the jump to a 1Kw PS...no point in moving up "only" to 850 watts.
EDIT
HardOCP ran R700 on the following specs and only were using 468w wall / 375w out. Even the Crossfire R700 was only 686w wall / 549w out.

2GB Corsair RAM
3 WD Raptor
