cool, thanks man. I am awaiting my card with oh so much eagerness (even though I know it will not come for another week or so, but that does not stop me from salivating....) Even at 250mhz, the benchmarks I saw put it a little faster than the GeForce3, but definitly slower then the GeForce3 Ti500, though not by much. If this card has 4ns ram (which it probably does) instead of the 3.6ns ram found on the retail 8500 from ATI, then it will be harder to oc, but to get a card that smears a GeForce3 Ti200 for $129...... he he he.

Powercolor Radeon Drivers

This is the drivers powercolor points to....looks like these ARE the ATI drivers...can anyone confirm that?

Wow, even if this is clocked at 230 it is still going to perform decent. I'm sure it ought to be messaged up t o 250 at least.

yah, those drivers have the exact same number as the ones from the ATI webpage. They even have the "beta" drivers that have smoothvision enabled for download. Looks like it uses the same drivers. This is nice because it means that the hardware is the EXACT same except for the clock speed. I use a RadeonLE 32mb DDR right now and I get only slightly different scores then the standard Radeon 32mb DDR card (mine is something like 20mhz slower than the retail) and this card from pcdynamic seems like the same deal. ok, I gotta go to bed before I drool all over my keyboard.

Power Color only lists one version of the 8500 on their webpage HERE with that said it is clocked at 250/250 and is a smoking deal IMHO.
Guess its time to upgrade from my Radeon LE

Thanks, couldn't resist the hot deal. I checked the specs on the Power Color web site and even though it doesn't mention the ns of the chips, it is listed at being 250/250 core/mem speed. Hopefully I will be able to flash the bios to the retail card and get more juice out of it. If not it's still a great price.

I could be wrong but....

After looking at the specs for the Power Color card & the actual ATI card side by side, the obvious difference is Hydravision. There is no mention of hydravision in the powercolor blurb. Maybe that is the difference between 8500 & 8500LE chipsets? All other information seems to be the same, except of course the lower 250/250 clocking.

Assuming I am correct, this omission may not matter to most who are purchasing this card, but to some it could be an important feature. It is also possible that all you hackers out there can find some way to enable this feature, as has been done with previous ATI cards?

Still, seems like a good deal.

Just ordered the card. Came out to $140 and change. If it is at least some form of a Radeon 8500, its a better deal then what any other store has around (I usually buy from Newegg.com and this blows their deal on the card outta the water, and is supposedly higher clocked). When I get the card I'll see what the settings etc. are, and how far I can OC it. Should be here some time next week. Should be helpful if someone in the Vid Card forum. starts a thread about how high this card can get, and if it even makes it to Retail Radeon 8500 speeds.

I put in an order and the only email was when I set up the acct, and I dont see anything when I check order status????????

Order also appears in order status, with no real details on where my order is in the shipping process.

I heard that those 230/230 junk cards only comes from OEMs, This one is from Powercolor and its retail version, from the fact that all retail version of 8500LE are @250/250, I'll say this is a good deal, but the issue turns to its memery ns, I heard 8500LE are 4.0ns instead of 3.6ns. Eventhough it can be o/c to 275/275, its performance should be no better than of 250/250@3.6ns, anyways I'm gonna confirm it with powercolor cuz Powercolor's website doesn't show its ns as well.
